Chaos Daemons - Skull Cannon of Khorne

$

Hello All, I needed some ranged firepower in my Daemon force, just sitting back and taking punishment for two turns before you can close the enemy is quite irritating, to just lobbing a few shots back to make them think about positioning and some losses is quite fun.
The base is a resin one picked up on eBay for a few quid after the original was lost, and I'm pleased now it was lost. The extra skulls are about to be new ammunition!
The Skull Cannon lobs fiery skulls filled with the wrath of Khorne at the enemy and ignores cover, eats through Scout Armour and is even effective against the hardiest Dreadnoughts with S8 D6 shots.
In Melee the Cannon bites back too, the Bloodletters attack with their Hellblades and if an enemy is slain by the Cannon's Crushing Impact (mortal wounds on 5+), the Cannon feasts on the corpse and regains wounds...
A decent long range firepower unit to the growing Daemonic Incursion, at first I hated the model, but it's grown on me, its goofy maw and the grisly ammo chute...

Cheers, Siph (5pts)

Legio Crucius Reaver No.2 - Update WIP #5 - Nearly Complete

Hello one and all,

The Reaver, as of yet without a name, is almost complete. All but the weapons and 3 armour plates are left to add the final highlights to the gold trim, and then any additional details to be added, such as the heat marks to the weapons etc. and the scroll on the carapace. This will be painted exactly the same style as the knee plate.
The Carapace, the shoulder guards and the pelvis armour plates all display the same 2 thin black stripes on a white field.
I've drilled out a space for the nut/bolt to sit inside the shoulder guard, and then a smaller hole for a magnet, which will magnetise with the washer I'll have between the model and nut.
The main part to do to complete the titan is the addition of LED's to the head, I've got all the parts ready to go, and will be looking to do this as a guide for anybody wanting to add lights to their models.
Really happy with how this is coming together, the Reaver will either be used as a 'Dreadfire' Titan as per the old Epic version, or it can be armed with the various options I've already from my original Reaver Titan has.
Thanks for stopping by! Cheers, Lord Halfpenny.

Primaris Lieutenant Amulius - Limited Edition Event Only Character

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, a break from the Daemons - a character for my fledgling Relictors Primaris reinforcements, this was the Event Only miniature meant for events and Adepticon 2020, however COVID-19 ruined that so GW have announced this will be/has been (depends on time of reading) released for general sale. Luckily when I bought it I didn't pay more than RRP, so quids in.
I love the stoic pose of this sculpt, rightly so for what I'll have him doing, sitting at the back with the bigger guns and intervening when the enemy gets too close, with his Power Sword and Bolt Pistol. I used Kantor Blue, Sotek Green, Temple Guard Blue and Baharroth Blue for the blade.

The leather straps (Pteruges) were painted Doombull Brown, washed Nuln Oil, highlighted Wazdakka Red and final touch of Squig Orange like Our Liege Duncan taught me - practice for Custodian Guard leathers.
As usual I used leather Mournfang Brown, washed Nuln and highlighted Balor Brown for the pouches to break up the greys. Greys are Dawnstone (AP Uniform Grey / old Codex Grey) for the armour, washed Nuln Oil, highlighted Administratum Grey (old Fortress Grey), a recipe I've used for over ten years.
I was rather pleased with the helmet details, the red and white stripes denoting his rank as Lieutenant (Lef-tenant for us Brits, not the US Loo-tenant I see so many UK YouTuber's saying...) haha. Just noticed I forgot to put script on the parchment - that was Ushabti Bone with a coat of Contrast Skeleton Horde, so easy. I will fix that right now.
And of course, a special mention to the Commission Artist Kooperkape I got chatting to over on Reddit who kindly agreed to use my heads as practice, and a great job he did too! Very pleased indeed, I hate faces! Usually I try to helmet my guys, makes sense on the battlefield, as you can see on the Intercessors Sergeant I removed his belt-buckled helmet and added it to his bonce. But this sculpt was pretty stoic and the face a great sculpt - his whole pose is based on the holding the helmet I wanted flesh! So, thank-you to Kooperkape for a job excellently done.

Not sure what I want to do next, I should really get some Reaver done if I want to beat 3.5yrs target...

Cheers Siph (10pts)

Legio Crucius Reaver No.2 - "Primus Secutar" Will Walk!

Hello One and All,

Reaver "Primus Secutar" of Legio Crucius is complete and will Walk out to battle for Legio Crucius. I will post a couple of group pics of the Maniple together in a later post.
Reaver "Primus Secutar" has been painted in the same style as my other Titans, and then I've added the additions of homemade decals to show the Legio symbols.
The knee guard has had the Crucius name added to the scroll work .
The Titan Owners Club logo has been added to the carapace, same position as the other Titans in my force.
The Carapace scroll has had the Titans name added, further details will be added to the rear potion of the scroll once I've got the decals.
 'Lights Up'
LED's have been added into the head as per the rest of the Maniple, with the power supply hidden inside the torso.
The Reaver is armed with a Titan Chainfist and then a Battle Titan Laser Blaster and Twin Turbolaser Destructor, however the model, like my first can have weapons switched around.

Really happy with the final result and look of the model! LH (Annual Painting - 60pts)

Legio Astorum - Reaver Titan No.2 - WIP #3 - Internals

Hello Titanseers and Fabricators, I finally got some time to start proper the Reaver Titan build. As a change from normal proceedings, I thought I would start with some of the details and after a lengthy time away on operations for the NHS, I finally was able to pick up my brushes and do some painting (the posts you may have been reading over the last month have all been pre-scheduled).

Here is the Titan Enginseer or Techpriest, dressed (in traditional 'Bananaman' colours, thanks Lord Halfpenny!) or in the yellow and red livery of the Legio Astorum. Whilst I was at it, I started on the internal Arm Servitor banks and the Techpriest's station. Plus a few external pieces like Reactor cooling vents and Void Shield Projectors.
I drilled and pinned through all three rear Torso pieces and glued and clamped in place on the main torso plate whilst the epoxy dried. I also sprayed and fitted the cooling fans assembly and vent plate, seen under the sticky tape above.
I masked off the internal section where joining pieces fitted and sprayed the deckplates. I used a dremel tool to roughen the surfaces that would be glued together to provide better surface area adhesion. I also glued on the shoulders and pinned through the bulkhead pieces for extra strength.
The internal doorway to the Command Deck in the Titan head, I painted up a few details that you can see when it's all put together.
The rear torso reactor section. Once constructed you can barely see with a torch - but for completeness, yes I did it...
And the other side screen.
Clamping the Servitor Banks in place after some careful sanding and aligning.
That's where I am up to, the main internal superstructure is now painted and complete. I just need to glue all these together now and then mask off the internal opening before the exterior gets a spray.

Feels good to be able to paint again and good to have made some progress with the Reaver. Next up the descision of a name? Siege of Vraks Titan Battlegroup was the inspiration for Honorum and Canis Praetor, or something else unique?
Used without permission. All rights reserved Games Workshop PLC.

I'm erring toward something unique but with the flame-craft designs of Invigila Alpha here and may have to reproduce some white stripes somewhere on the Titan, maybe rear half of carapace or rear of the shoulder guards, all my Maniple have white stripes.
As always, thank-you for dropping by, Cheers, Siph.

Titan Weapons - Warlord and Reaver

Hello one and all!

This week I've completed a couple of additional weapons for both the Reaver titans, and my Warlord.

Reaver - Dreadfire configuration
I've completed a set of warlord apoc missile launchers for use on my Reavers. This is an opd Epic version, utilising 3 missile pods. I've added a bolt into the weapon, to then screw into place through the shoulder. We will be using house rules for these if, and when I use this set up.
I am happy with the look, I think it would have been better if the missiles were horizonal, rather than vertical, however this would involve a huge conversion on each arm.

Backup plan is to use the missiles on my next warlord (if and when that happens..)

Warlord - Belicosa
The Belicosa volcano cannon has been completed with a similar style to the other volcano weapons in the legion. I've added heat detail to the barrel of the weapon using blue, purple, orange then finally yellow inks. A home made symbol decal has been added to the gun shield.

Thanks for stopping by! LHAnnual Painting - 20pts (10 for belicosa, 5 for each missile pod)

Chaos Daemons - Bloodletters of Khorne

Hello all, thanks for dropping by, this week's addition to my Daemonic Incursion is another squad of Bloodletters, these can boost my current blob of 10 Bloodletters, giving me the option to run a squad of 20 if needed and an Icon of Chaos to help 'reality blink' and restore numbers.
These have a dark red to black fade scheme on the horns rather than horn, adding to the horrific substance of these, and firey Hellblades. I have also included an Instrument of Chaos to give bonuses if I pay the points.
The Khorne Daemon rules give bonuses to attacks and charging, as Khorne loves to fight!
The Icon of Chaos is a big symbol of the wrathful Chaos God of Khorne, covered in blood, I used some Blood for the Blood God technical paint for a wet blood look, befitting of Khorne.
Coming at you! RRRRARGH!

Cheers, Siph (10 points)

Legio Crucius - Warlord Titan Weapons

Hello one and all,

Thank you for stopping by!

I’ve recently completed my converted Mori Quake Cannon for the Warlord Titan. For this conversion, I used the Mori Quake Cannon from the Warbringer Nemesis Titan carapace and a Sunfury Plasma Annihilator cannon from the Warlord Titan, plus the gun shield from the Warlord Bellicosa Volcano Cannon. This seems insane to do, however I am doing a second conversion to be shown soon with the offcuts.
For the weapon I removed the ‘elbow’ connection point from the Sunfury Plasma Annihilator, and prepared this to be added to the cannon. Next up was to sand down and flatten the top point of the Mori Quake Cannon to allow the elbow to be pinned into place. Parts of the Mori Quake Cannon were chopped and changed to fit around the new joint.
For the ammo magazine, I used the 2 ammo boxes from the Warbringer Nemesis Quake Cannon kit, and pinned them together flipped at 90 degrees – I used the AT quake cannon as inspiration and guidance here. These fit really nicely into the main body, I also pinned this into place. I chopped up the rear section and lower support to fit the new ammo box for both ascetics and also to add additional support.
The Mori Quake has 2 curved sections to fit the gun carriage, for the inner section I added a part from a plasma generator plastic kit- a servo skull section which fits nicely into space.
For the outer section I added the gun shield from the Bellicosa Volcano Cannon kit.
The weapon was painted akin to the other Warlord weapons, with decals added for Legio Crucius.

Now I have 2 loadouts for the warlord, the first 2 Sunfury Plasma Annihilators for close range combat, or the second a Mori Quake Cannon and Bellicosa Volcano Cannon for a long range monster!

I am really happy with how the weapon looks, I am sure there will be a Mori Quake Cannon available soon, I was keen to have had the weapon as an option for the proposed 2020 UK Titan Walk - however this event was postponed due to the covid-19 situation.

Chaos Daemons - Flesh Hounds of Khorne

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. I have completed my first of a couple of packs of Khorne Flesh Hounds, to accompany Karanak and the second pack will ensure at least some will survive the shooting phase to close with the enemy! A major weakness in Chaos Daemon armies.
These were a cinch to paint using the Contrast paints over Wraithbone primer, Flesh Tearers Red and Shyish Purple. The vanes around the head were picked out with Squig Orange and the Claws Eshin Grey, Dawnstone and Fortress Grey.
The Collar of Khorne was Brazen Brass, highlighted Fulgrite Copper and washed Agrax to dull it back down. I love the variation in colour of the Shyish Purple, Contrast Paints are ideal for organics.
The spikes and tail blades were Shyish Purple over the Fleshtearers Red. The tongue also Squig Orange and the teeth Ushabti Bone and contrast Skeleton Horde.
The final touch was a little Nihilakh Oxide on the Brass Collar and the bases my usual recipe of Mournfang Brown, drybrushed Karak Stone and Ushabti Bone. Tufts were from Gamers Grass I think.
A great little kit, the next pack will have the heads mixed around so no carbon-copies. Fairly simple but effective, I love the contrast paints for these Daemons.

Cheers, Siph. (10 Points)

Imperial Inquisitor Grohl on Horseback

Hello one and all,

This weeks update was something a little smaller than a Titan - a conversion I've been working on for awhile. Using the old Archaon model as a base I've converted it to become an Inquisitor who will walk (trot) along side my Deathwatch Space Marine force.
All of the spikes and other Chaos symbols were removed from both Archaon and Dorghar, with the addition of some purity seals over the Chaos star on Dorghar hindquarters - I did try to green stuff this, however there was still a hint of Chaos there, so the Purity Seals were used to hide the taint!
For the scheme I opted for a neutral tones for Dorghar, with Zandri Dust as the base, a couple of lighter highlights, with a final Agrax Earthshade wash to finish. For the Imperial Inquistor I went for a white armour, to contrast with the black armoured deathwatch, with bright regal reds and purples for the cape. The head is from the old marauders kit (who looks a little like Dave Grohl...) with a metal Grey Knight Halberd and a Storm Shield from a 3rd party Emperor kit OOP. The spear had a purple blade, with white added to show the power surging through it.
Happy with the results, I've got a few more additions for his retinue to add, as well as plenty more Deathwatch! Cheers, Lord Halfpenny (10pts)

Chaos Daemons - Plaguebearers of Nurgle #3

Hi All, thanks for dropping by. This week's WeeMen offering is more Chaos Daemons, this time Plaguebearers of Nurgle. I've kept these on 25mm bases, like the previous two squads for consistency.
I've chosen a Deathguard Green base for these ones, and some Eshin Grey and Nihilakh Oxide on the Plague Swords for a different look. The guts are picked out with Screamer Pink and liberal use of Blood for the Blood God.
The miniatures were matt spray varnished and then BFTBG and Nurgle's Rot added on completion to keep a gloss wet look. The bases were my usual recipe of Mournfang Brown, Karak Stone, Ushabti Bone and some Gamers Grass tufts.
And here is the comparison of the three squads together, a nice variation of Nurgle greens and hues, they look fine in a big squad together too.

Thanks for stopping by all. Cheers, Siph. (10 points)

Deathwatch Update - Primaris, Captain and a Leviathan Dreadnought!

Hello one and all!

I'm slowly getting into my 'to-do-pile' for my Deathwatch force.

I've completed a 5 man Primaris unit, a Primaris Captain and a Leviathan Dreadnought.

Primaris Unit

I've painted these with the same metallic black base, with edge highlights of thunderhawk blue to the raised sections. The weapons have been picked out in red, as I did for the previous vehicles adn dreadnoughts. The helmet eyes have been picked out with blue, having a slight glow around them using a lighter blue than that used for the lenses. I will be doing similar with power weapons.

Primaris Captain

The Primaris Captain is based on the store birthday model, I've opted for him being from the Imperial Fists - to tie this in I've coloured the inner cape to match the yellow of the shoulder pad. I spent a lot of time on the face, and happy with the eyes.

Leviathan Dreadnought

I decieded to add some major firepower for the force with an addition of a Blood Angels Leviathan armed with 2 Storm cannons. I've tried to retain the look of the blood angels, whislt balancing it so that it looks deathwatch, more than death company. The details have been painted the same as the previous dreadnoughts, with an additon of a Blood Angels decal to the Right shoulder pad.

Really hapy with all of these units, and they look great together!

Thanks for looking!  LH (20 painting points, 5 troopers, 10 Character, 5 Dreadnought)

Chaos Daemons - Soul Grinder of Slaanesh

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, continuing my daemon offerings this year, today a Soul Grinder of Slaanesh, the alignment to Slaanesh gives the Quicksilver ability to fight first in CC, so with his high toughness and lethal close combat weapons he should be a threat to most.
I used contrast paints on the flesh, Magos Flesh and Shyish Purple for the darker purple weapon. The armour panels were Daemonette Hide and washed Magos Flesh finished with some old transfers from a CSM decal sheet.
The mechanical bits were basecoated Leadbelcher and washed Nuln Oil and some Agrax and the pistons picked out with Stormhost Silver and grimed with Chestnut Ink.
The Soul Grinder has a Harvester Cannon and a Mawcannon as well as the fearsome close combat abilities.
He looks angry...
A nice addition to the Daemons Incursion who needed some high toughness and some ranged firepower.

Cheers, Siph (5pts)

Deathwatch - Primaris Intercessors and another Leviathan Dreadnought

Hello one and all,

Further progress on the ever growing Deathwatch force, this time in a 5 man squad of Primaris Intercessors, and a Hellblaster to add to the 5 man force from last week, and another Leviathan Dreadnought - this time a Red Scorpion version.

Primaris
I've added 5 more troops with the same scheme as previously used, with details picked out and additions to some to make the individual models look more like their chapter of origin - for Space Wolves this is pretty easy - with head swaps and wolf pelts etc.
The force looks good with the other Primaris Marines!
Leviathan

I've used the Culln Drednought as the base for this model - I love the look of the Leviathan, and the Red Scorpion version has a lot of character to it! The model has had details picked out to go with the metallic black finish, and Deathwatch icons added.
I've also done an option to swap the weapon using magnets, so I can either use the assault cannon as default with the model - in game terms a Storm Cannon, or to go for the Melta option.
Thanks for stopping by! Cheers, Lord Halfpenny.

Legio Astorum - Warhound Titan #3 "Lupus Regent" WIP #1

$

Hello Titan fans and thanks for dropping by. I was lucky enough to be in the position to buy a Titan off of a fellow Titan Owners Club Member when the chance came along. A fellow Titan enthusiast Damien wanted to concentrate his Titan force using just Reaver Titans and was selling his Warhound to fund a second Reaver. His original scheme was as above, Legio Sargasso which was a lot like Legio Astorum with Kantor Blue and a gold trim. By purchasing this Engine it would also remain in the auspex scans of Titan Owners Club and indeed Damien would get to Walk alongside his original Titan at TOC Events! So win win!

Now, I thought, I could just repaint the head and I was 90% done. I am currently doing just that, and re-gilding the golden trim to match my Warlord Dominus Victoria. I will add a base like my other Warhounds, add a few details, finish off the crew and add spacers on top of the arms to finish off them. Add some Astorum Decals and remove the custom Sargasso markings to change it's allegiance.  So maybe a little less than 90% done but these changes will make the Engine my own. I love the pose Damien has achieved and the ruined track unit of a Spartan will remain, I might paint it as Iron Warriors by adding a chevron plate and some weathering on the tracks. But, as Titan's go, thanks to Damien I was 70-80% done on arrival!
Here is the current state of the Warhound, I've removed the separate bases and will add a joined base so the base forms a strong third spar of a triangle with the legs, this makes the build a lot stronger.
The crew will get a little detailing to finish them off. And I may repaint the head unit blue to match my other two Warhounds, but not decided yet. I have some Void Projectors coming too, to replace the missing ones.
Here is the head now in Legio Astorum livery, and the scrollwork has a new name emblazoned - the original name Damien gave this hound was "Spectral Reagent", I will honour it's Machine Spirit and rename him as "Lupus Regent", to Walk alongside his brother Engines "Canis Bellum" and "Canis Praetor". The Sargasso emblem was removed from the armour and the stripes remain, they will go nicely alongside my Maniple who all have white striped panels on a blue field.
I have removed the ankle Armour Plates as my hounds have the Imperial Aquila on the left leg, so a swap was needed.

An excellent addition to the Maniple. Thanks Damien, and cheers all, Siph.

Imperial Guard - Caliban Jaegers by Dark Canon

$

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, a guest post today from my mate Dark Canon, yes he is a fluffy player and treadhead as well as a Dark Angels player, hence the natural name Dark Canon. He has a great Dark Angels Deathwing, Ravenwing and fledgling Greenwing army painted by Rob at the sadly now defunct 30kplus40k blog (at the time of writing - perhaps he will post again).

Anyway, these are Dark Canon's foray into the world of painting and a true Guard player he is, what is not pictured is a shed-tonne of Guard on foot and many Leman Russ' tanks. Being a fluff bunny and a fan of Dark Angels these are painted with that in mind and Caliban Green being in the uniform - I like to think these as the Caliban Jaegers, the Regiments raised from the populace of Caliban at the time of the Great Crusade and now recruiting from Imperial Worlds throughout the Sector.
For a mates meet up last year at Warhammer World we all had a superheavy, and this took a heavy toll on 6thDegree's Iron Warriors and Daemons force, a Hellhammer Superheavy.
The mighty Hellhound with lots of flamer goodness, a Fast Attack option and rightly feared by the enemies and friendly troops standing too near...
Backing up the Caliban Jaegers are a few Companies of Militarum Tempestus Scions, the Taurox Prime with Taurox Gatling Cannon's puts out a lot of shots coupled with fire ports and twin-linked Hotshot Lasguns or Autocannons.
The trusty Artillery Basilisk putting out a barrage at long range, i'm sure Dark Canon will have plans for more Basilisk's or Manticores.
And the latest addition, some DKoK Deathriders, which can be great stand-ins for Roughriders whichever the friendly game requires. Love these models, they have been painted in the same blue trenchcoats as the DKoK Ogryns converted from old metal Ogryns.
One thing the Imperial Guard excel at is the ability to lay down a lot of fire support and indirect fire support is invaluable, I will be getting a few of these too for the Brood Brothers for my Genestealer Cult.
The Bullgryns are a decent choice, Slab Shields or the Supression Shield have frustrated my Relictors firepower and by Veterans died under the Battle Mauls relentless attacks.
Backing up the Astra Militarum, (Imperial Guard) is an operative of the Officio Assassinorium, a Eversor Assassin - in a permanent state of searing rage, kept in check by massive doses of sedatives; when the time comes for him to act, he’s roused from his coma and unleashed. Only his death will stop his berserk mission - he can tear through Power Armour and even take out Dreadnoughts with his Melta-Bombs!
More Fire Support with Missile Launchers and a Lascannon in the background, more of these will be on the way.
Finally, the Deathriders, the latest addition - here just before the bases were finished off. Superb sculpts, if I had the time and inclination and not six armies on the go, I'd get loads of these.

Thank-you to Dark Canon for letting me share his Guard, great speed so far and I look forward to seeing the latest additions before I have to face them on the battlefield!

Cheers, Siph.

Deathwatch - Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought of the Relictors

Hello one and all! Thanks for swinging by!

Up next, to the growing Deathwatch force is a Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought, with the Primaris hailing from the Relictors Chapter. (I love painting near dead Relictors...)
The Dreadnought has been armed with a Macro Plasma Incinerator and Heavy Flamer in the close combat arm. The Dreadnought was painted like the other Deathwatch, with a metallic black base, and highlights up to Thunderhawk Blue. The weapons are painted with a red base, Agrax wash with a orange final highlight.
I've added the same symbol as Siph uses on his Relictors, to link the dreadnought to Siph's force. I have also added the phrase 'Death' to the scroll on the front of the dreadnought sarcophagus armour, with 'Mortis' and a nod to 'Siph' on the scrolls on the sarcophagus itself.
Thanks for looking! Lord Halfpenny (5pts)

EDIT - picture of the Relictors symbol.. should have checked the images!

Legio Astorum - Warhound Titan "Lupus Regent" WIP #2

Hello Titanseers and other readers, thanks for dropping by again. The transformation progress of Lupus Regent continues, her main Carapace and Body is now complete, trim re-done, FW Legio Astorum decals applied and just awaiting some Void Shield Projectors.
I like to base my Titans for stability and the base provides a third arm of a triangle making the Titan strong and stable and less prone to splayed legs over time. The base is made from MDF, sand is glued using PVA and sealed with watered down PVA, I've scored and masked off where the titan is glued to the base.
The underside of the base was hollowed out using a Forstner Bit and screws and a washer applied to 'pin' the Titan to the base to make extra sure the 2-part Epoxy Resin never fails! It's awesome stuff but designed for plastic to plastic but works equally well on MDF.
The solution to the arms so I can remove and swap weapons is using screwthread nut/bolt hidden by the top caps, however room for a washer prevents the resin splitting and provides a surface the top plates can be magnetised too, just needs a spacer for the nut thickness - easily achieved using the spacers given when I purchased some magnets for the Reaver.
These appear as part of the Titan when put in place and painted so I am very happy with that!
I also painted the Plasma Coils to match the first Warhound "Canis Bellum" painted by Richard Gray. I have subsequently repainted the trim to a brighter gold, as see above. It is also mounted on the left arm rather than Canis Bellum's right, just to add variety.

Next week I should have her completed and ready for showcase and re-registration at Titan Owners Club as a proud Titan of Legio Astorum! Again, thanks to Damien for the canvas to work from and make it my own.

Cheers all, Siph.

Deathwatch - Primaris Lieutenants

Hello one and all!

Further additions to my growing Deathwatch force, this time in the form of several Primaris Lieutenants.

I really liked the look of the Dark Angels Zakariah, and Blood Angels Tolmeron models, and really wanted to add these into the Primaris force to add a chapter character feel to the force. after getting these, the Space Wolves lieutenant was realeased,  and again I saw the potential to add  him as well!

All have had the should pads swapped, to have the Deathwatch left pad, and a chapter symbol on the right. Zakariah has had a weapon swap, using the pointed finger from the Primaris sprue, with the over the shoulder bolter added to complete the look.

These have been painted up in the same style as the other Primaris in the force.

I have also kit bashed the 2 Lieutenants that come with the Dark Imperium box set, both are now armed with Plasma guns as I had loads spare, and wanted to try something different! Pretty happy with how these guys are shaping up, I am toying with getting a epic scale captain to add to the wrist communication system on the 2nd Lieutenant.

Legio Astorum - Warhound Titan - Lupus Regent Walks for Astorum!

$

Hello Titan fans and readers all, I have completed my 5th Titan, Warhound "Lupus Regent" of Legio Astorum Walks! And a fine hunting Scout Titan she is too.
Those seeing my previous posts will have seen this was a transferred Engine from Legio Sargasso to Legio Astorum. I did a lot of work to the paintjob, but the rather excellent pose was all Princeps Damiem. I just added a base to give more stability and tie both legs together to form a strong triangle of support.
I re-did the Plasma Coils to match those of my first Warhound "Canis Bellum", with pulses rather than a full glow, the blues used are the same as my Warlord Sunfury Plasma tutorial (HERE). The banner (by Drake Seta) was the same as the other hounds, I just painted over the name tally and added that with Micron Pen.
The head was based on the same fade from orange to yellow as the other hounds, however brushwork rather than super smooth airbrush (by Richard Gray) and I am rather pleased with the look. The bronze of the Plasma Blastgun was aged using Nihilakh Oxide Technical Paint.
The Shin Armour was swapped over between legs as my 'Hounds have an Aquila on the left leg. The Legio Sargasso icons were removed on the right Armour and the Carapace received its Legio Astorum markings. I also added rubber cables from the rear of the armaments to the carapace, rubber skipping rope was used and it is the same thickness as FW resin cables, but much more flexible! They are glued and pinned into the weapons but just slot into the carapace hose housings so they can be swapped out.
I added heat staining to the Turbolaser Destructor barrels and lightened the centre of the barrels akin to the other 'Hounds. I also re-did the trim throughout to match Warlord Dominus Victoria and attached the caps on top of the shoulders with magnets to securely hide the nut and bolt assembly.
The base was made using 5mm MDF, and sand and PVA applied with a few slate chips. The wrecked Spartan track unit was repainted Iron Warriors with chevrons and weathered and aged. The reverse of the banner shows the Titan Owners Club sigil.
I added some small details like camera lenses in the groin (for seeing enemies around its feet) and some indicator lights/lenses on the rear of the hips and carapace. All the pistons were painted Stormhost Silver and weathered using Chesnut Ink where the grime would collect. I also added black soot marks on the vent screens.
The swapped shin armour had the Titan's name written on it, and you can also see the Engine Certificate number on the rear Carapace, Engine 4189.
The white diagonal stripes were on the original paintwork, nicely done and kept as all my Maniple have white striped sections, this is a continuation of this, and looks quite fetching I think!
The Princeps in his Command Throne with the Moderati up front. I picked out the details in the Command Deck and lavished gold where the Princeps would be, so you know who is in charge. I also gave the Moderati Astorum Blue coveralls and gold Moderati rank badges.
The Void Projectors were to match those on my Warlord, with Soulstone Blue glow. These were missing from the kit however with some clever use of bits for my forthcoming Reaver, I managed to use two from that kit to replace them.
Here you can see the Iron Warriors being bought to heel, quite literally... I edged the toes with some Hawk Turquoise.
And a nice shot of the Scout Maniple, from left to right - Canis Bellum, Lupus Regent and Canis Praetor.
And the banner under which I field them, part of The Emperor's Halo Titan Battlegroup of the Legio Astorum. Ave Imperator, give thanks to the Omnissiah for this blessed gift of a mighty War Engine!

Cheers, Siph. (25pts - half points as construction and basecoat/white stripe was already laid)
