Relictors Chapter Space Marines - Primaris Librarian

Hi all, thanks for dropping by, a small addition to the ever growing Relictors Chapter Space Marines, not only do I have an extensive (!) 5th Company, a growing 4th Company, a huge armoury and 1st Company Veterans... I also expanded into Primaris reinforcements.
This was a very decent eBay lot, then adapted from Ultramarines to my Relictors with the subtle changing of shoulder pauldrons to a black field and my skull decal. Rebased to match my existing forces.
Other than that, I contrast painted the Force Sword with some Magos Purple, love the effect that gives, added some Skeleton Horde to parchment and shaded recesses of cloak and done. A nice easy addition to the force and no delay, I'm busy with AT Titan at the moment but never like leaving my Relictors without some attention.
Here he is next to the other eBay purchase adapted to fit also, a nice contrasting pair, the Primaris Librarian looks positively ostentatious next to the muted Phobos Librarian, exactly as they should be. It's only right the Chapter reinforcements have Librarians to watch over the flock - those pesky Relictors get up to some shady stuff and need the psychic protection of Librarians!

Adeptus Titanicus - Legio Mortis Warbringer Nemesis Titan

Hello Titan fans, a slightly smaller Titan than I am used to, but I have completed my second Adeptus Titanicus Titan, a Warbringer Nemesis Titan armed with the mighty Mori-Quake Cannon and twin Battle Titan Volcano Cannons.

I took inspiration from the box artwork and added black and white stripes on some of the panels, but followed loosely the same scheme as my Mortis AT Reaver, a red carapace and black and gold body.
I added some heat staining to the muzzles of the mighty Battle Titan Volcano Cannons, and chose black for the armour panels, some weapons I have done red armour plates.
The rear of the Titan, all the armoured plates are pretty much forward facing, this is a longer range artillery support Titan rather than a brawler like a Warlord or Reaver, as such I will probably field as long range weapon choices rather than a Titan Power Fist or Chain Fist.
That said, the armour panels are an improvement over the venerable Reaver with more interlocking plate and armoured thighs, the Reaver lacks armour in the thigh and upper arm area.
I added decals from the AT Legio Mortis Titan transfer sheets. 
And finally a shot showing the arm armaments, all magnetised, as are the Icarus AA flak guns, no idea why really, but the magnet slots were already pre-drilled so a simple 5mm x 1mm disc neodymium magnet was easy to fit.

Necron Dynasty - Lokhust Heavy Destroyer

Hello All, thanks for dropping in, I completed a little project I had prepped whilst away with work, so on my return I sent it straight to the front of the painting queue, a nice little mini to add to my Destroyer Force - I'm not sure what is in the Codex as I have not yet bought it, however I have 9 Destroyers, 2 Heavy Destroyers and a Destroyer Lord - I hope theses are still playable!
I opted for the rule of cool when it came to the weapon, the Gauss Destructor I guess is a replacement for a Heavy Gauss Cannon and the chosen Enmitic Exterminator is like a couple of Autocannons for horde clearing, but looks far superior so it stays, I'm sure my older two converted Heavy Destroyers can be counts-as Gauss Destructors.
I followed the same scheme as the previous Destroyers, a plain upper torso and blue shell. Red gauss energy effects.
I like the chips and dents the new sculpts have, makes them look a little more weathered and beaten.
'Tis a mighty fine looking behemoth of a gun - even if 3D3 S7 -1AP D1shots is a little lacklustre compared to a single S10 -4AP D-3D3 tank killer shot, but two different roles, just that Necrons don't have a problem clearing Hordes with the mainstay weapon being a Gauss Flayer.

This shows the size comparison between old and new 'heavy' destroyers - the older shell is actually considerably bigger but the new sculpt has a lot more mass. I like the addition of the non-flying stand base too, a nice update miniature, I just hope the old ones are playable!

 Hello one and all,

Firstly my apologise to Siph for my poor blogging, and lack of hobby time! moving house, and then work on said house has zapped all hobby time! however the office/hobby space is getting there and can look to get back on the hobby bike! (I reckon about 3 weeks work for you! Lol - Siph)

So I've recently picked up another titan, this time another Warbringer titan which will be armed with 2 volcano cannons, and then the converted belicosa volcano on the carapace which I was working on prior to the move. I've also opted to have the alternative, Delta head for the Titan. 

The plan is to get the titan up and ready for the Titan Owners Club UK walk in August.. wish me luck! LH

Necron Dynasty - Cryptek with Canoptek Cloak

Hello all, thanks for dropping by, continuing with my Necrons to-do pile, I dug out this Necron Cryptek with Canoptek Cloak, a present from Lord TITANium Halfpenny, co-author here at WeeMen. Thanks Mate!
I love the dynamic pose GW achieved with this mini, can't wait to use him, the Canoptek Cloak gives him the speed to keep up with Destroyers and Destroyer Lord, giving the ability for D3 wounds regain with the Lord's Living Metal ability and plus one to reanimation protocols for the Destroyers.
I tried my hand at some blending on the blade, but the oranges and reds make it look like a fruit salad candy sweet...
The Canoptek Cloak spider construct has been painted the same schemes as my other Canoptek constructs with a brass head unit and silver and blue panels.
A great addition to the force giving some fast moving buff auras.

Update - New Hobby Space/Office

 Hello All!


I thought I'd post a couple of WIP pictures of the new Hobby Space, and how I've tried to maximise space and storage.. 


I've got a 4x4 ft games table supported on Besta units which are perfect for storing larger Titans. I am planning to add lights inside and under the units. 


I've also added a 3rd Bookcase to add further space for models. 2 will be used for completed models, whilst the 3rd is next to my desk which will hold my WIP models.  This has also allowed me to add a little more space to the painting area. 

 Opposite the  paint area, I have my office space for my day job, The plan is to have a 3D printer set up as this is an aspect of the hobby as something I would really love to get into more!

I've then got 3 glass units to store further models, again these will have lights added. 

 

Slowly getting there, but really happy with how the 'Weeman Den' is coming together! LH

Necron Dynasty - Cryptothralls

Hello all, thanks for dropping by. Today's newest additions to the everliving, ahem ever growing Necron Dynasty is two Cryptothralls, bodyguards to Necron Crypteks.
These lovely walking waste bins mean a nearby Cryptek cannot be targeted by ranged weapons and in turn the Cryptek boosts their WS and BS to 3+ when near the Cryptek, and 6A in Melee - these try to keep the Cryptek out of harms way and go beserk in CC!
The main weapons in melee are Scythed Limbs, S5, -1AP and 1Dmg but with boosted 6 attacks each might make some close combat opponents think twice. Their other ranged weapon is also a Pistol profile so can supplement the CC attacks with some shots in melee. Coupled with the Technomancer Cryptek's Canoptek Control Node means the WS3 gets an additional +1 (the WS3 for being near Cryptek is a change to stat, not a 'plus one'). So, WS 2+ six attacks base, in pairs, and linked with Novokh's strategm you could have 16 attacks to punish any would be attackers!
The ranged weapon is a pistol type range and type, the Scouring Eye, but quite lethal at S5, -2AP and 1Dmg can hurt most foes.
Coupled with Living Metal and Reanimation Protocols these are going to be fun to have, and whats more, every Cryptek can have them without taking up a slot. Nice little additions to keep the Crypteks around a little longer.

Warlord Titan - Mori-Quake Cannon - WIP #2

Hello Titanseers and All, thanks for dropping by. Back in April I posted my progress on a new additional weapon arm for my existing Warlord Titan (HERE). This just continues the work in progress, what can I say - I am slow (3.5yrs for the Warlord!) and its a BIG gun!
The gun shield is getting there, stripes and decals and trim two coats are done, just weathering of the trim to do and a final lacquer coat to protect. I may have gone overboard with stripes, maybe diagonal panels would be enough but I like them, they look difficult but easy to do with masking tape and look effective. All my Maniple have striped panels and the Warlord has a striped Shin so this just continues the theme.
The main gun just has its undercoat and spray of Leadbelcher, I've yet to wash with my Nuln/Agrax wash and drybrush with Necron Compound. The Belicosa Volcano Cannon shows the final effect. Not sure if I should do as much heat stain, just limit it to carbon soot weathering instead, its a big shell thrower not a laser.
The main barrel might get a black coat sleeve too, or leave as is, bare metal? What are your thoughts on barrel colour and heat staining? Cheers

Warbringer update WIP #2

 Hello All!

Quick update, I've started the build of the Warbringer, with the legs and torso almost complete. The leg armour sections are not fixed, so that I can paint them seperately. The legs have been fully pinned other than the left foot which I had left unfixed to make sure I've got space for the armour plates, as the kit is quite unforgiving.. 


I am really happy with the pose, The plan is to have the model slightly looking to the right, I am thinking I will do a repeat as my first Warbringer, and turn the arm supports round by 90, so that the support acts more like a elbow joint to allow the weapon to be angled on the vertical axis.


 

There are a couple of bitz missing from the kit, and am waiting on FW to get them over to me to continue the build. 

The head has had the eye holes drilled ready for the LED's to be added.. Hopefully will have a image of this next week for you!

Necron Dynasty - Canoptek Wraiths - #2

Hello Overlords, thanks for dropping by. I have finally added some very needed boost to my lowly three existing Wraiths from April 2018, now with three more to bulk out the squad, I really need to do another set, maybe two so I can have 2 larger squads of these great harassing units. As I said back in 2018, I might have missed the OP boat of 7th Edn when these were all the rage, however they are still a decent melee option.
The first two - note these were a pre-existing build from someone, hence the missing 'light/sensor' above the head, but when the locator nub is painted up it doesn't really stand out that its actually missing. The one on the left has a sensor from my bits box to look like the original.
I opted for chrome carapace up top and then the rest of the segments are 'unpainted' necron metals. The existing squad had a blue carapace for the one armed with Whip Coils to stand out but now Whip Coils have been nerfed, just one in the squad suffices.
These took surprisingly ages to paint as each Wraith has about 40 red gauss energy balls/reactors to do, quite a feat each, and the metal segments are washed to add some aged greasy sheen so not to look plain undercoated!
I opted for bare Canoptek Wraiths without the ranged weapons, maybe the next squad will get ranged weapons, the Particle Caster might be worth the few points for shooting in combat, however the Transdimensional Beamer looks really overpriced now, better to conserve points and run as bare knuckle fighters, they are dedicated Melee option afterall.
Here is the six together, a headache to shift off the table I hope with a tasty invulnerable save and wraithform helping them strike from cover.

Necron Dynasty - Royal Warden

Welcome Overlords, more expansion to the Necron Dynasty, and some fleshing out of the Necron Royal Court with the addition of a Royal Warden. Royal Wardens are Necrons who serve directly under a Overlord and ensure their lord's will is carried out by the Dynasty 's armies. Royal Wardens possess the initiative to adapt on the battlefield and can modify the orders to phalanxes of Necron Infantry. While they retain independence of thought, their command protocols still make them unquestionably loyal.
I guess he is the Lieutenant to the Overlord, buffing nearby troops and adding to their firepower with his relic Gauss Blaster, a tasty 30in Gauss so he can sit at the rear of the phalanx and still shoot.
I used my usual palette of metals and blue armour plates adding gold to higher ranking members, so he got a substantial amount of bling.
A nice simple and cool looking mini to give some well needed buffs.

Necron Dynasty - Hexmark Destroyer

Welcome Overlords, thanks for dropping by. Continuing my additions to the growing Necron Dynasty I have added a Hexmark Destroyer to the force. GW says Hexmark Destroyers were once Deathmarks, the Hunters from Hyperspace assassins. "Bursting from their dimensional oubliettes like ambush predators, these hunchbacked monsters unleash inescapable hails of enmitic fire. Independent ocular targeting and optimised firing patterns leave their prey with no escape". Sounds a great selling point however I think MEQ's won't worry too much.
"All but unrivalled in close-range firepower, each Hexmark Destroyer is like a mobile gun battery, able to blast its way through hordes of enemy infantry with impunity" GW says, but its a little underwhelming with only being -1AP and 1Dmg, so unless its a horde you are trying to chew through it will need more help.
They do have a decent rule like the Deathmarks so can appear and shoot in the opposition's movement phase when something arrives from Deep Strike and can shoot the arrivals, just like the Deathmarks and each successful wound lets you gain another shot (up to six original shots) so they can be effective against Scions/Guard Vets and hordes.
Nice additions of some scenery and Scarabs to the base.
I do love the multiple arms, and I thought the GSC Kelomorph had a cool gunslinger vibe with three arms... this doubled it!
Although its quite a small mini, he does fill a large base completely which is a great and the gubbins on the top with all the wires looks great.

Warbringer Update.. WIP #3

 Hello one and all,


The Warbringer project is slowly coming together, however I am now waiting for FW customer services to send over a couple of pieces that are missing- they have been great as ever, I've seen a few negative comments online, my experiences are that they are great! 



I've painted the armour plates to much up with my other Crucius titans, with a metallic black/white scheme, a couple of the paints have been painted in checker board appearance, the others either a plain colour or stripes. I am now on the long road of the gold trim. 


Below you can see how the Warbringer looks standing tall, with the converted Belicosa on the carapace - the model is slightly tilted forward with menace! as if she is firing all weapons at a distant titan target.

Legio Astorum - Warlord Titan - Mori-Quake Cannon Completed

Hello Titanseers, welcome and thanks for dropping in. I have completed the re-arming of Warlord Titan Dominus Victoria, a mighty Mori-Quake Cannon now can be substituted in place for the Sunfury Plasma Annihilator if the added Boom! is required.
The Mori-Quake gives a whole lot more range (up to 360in in 40K, 288in with AT28mm which we play at Titian Owners Club Walks) which is far superior to the Sunfury 72in, its also twice the strength and Macro 3D6 rather than 2D6 hits and -5AP over -4AP... so superior indeed, just looks a little dull compared to bright blue plasma glowing coils!
I opted for striped shield sections to echo the shin design, a signature look for my Maniple, every Titan has some stripes. The Black sheathed barrel was a last addition to differentiate where the massive recoil of the barrel retracts where the four pistons are, just forward of the blue armour cowling. The cog and star field echo the same designs found on the Belicosa Volcano Cannon on the opposite arm.
I like the shorter fatter barrel when compared to the Volcano Cannon.

The underside of the Mori-Quake has the power cables where I added some colour, matching power cables elsewhere on the Warlord.
I opted for a dull brass Ammo Hopper to look different from the rest of the weapon, to show these are additional containers, loaded by ammo servitors before battle and can be discarded. The Aquila is from a Warhound Titan kit.
The weapon is magnetised using a 30mm rod, 8mm diameter Neodymium to match the arm magnets in the Titan, these provide ample pull and fix the arm securely, the arm is removed by rotating the arm up or down to break the magnet flush-facing and then comes away easily.
The ammo Magazine has some Tech-Adept markings to show this is container number 27, again to reinforce the message that these are plentiful and can be discarded. The crossed axes on the Shield denote Warlord classification. Decals were taken from the Forge World 28mm Legio Astorum Transfer sheet, now sadly OOP, and sought after!

Relictors Chapter Space Marines - Primaris Lieutenant #2 - w/ Auto Bolt Rifle

Hello all, thanks for dropping by, yes, yes, another Primaris Lieutenant... this one is from the Dark Imperium original release, and probably my favourite. He looks grizzled and oozes character. The Auto-Bolt Rifle means he can also be useful whilst sitting at the back encouraging the troops.
I added a gold icon to the power pack to match Lt Amulius from earlier, its a nice way to mark them out as Characters in a sea of grey power armour, okay not so great if you worry about snipers, but hey, this is 40K, its nice to give the quite vanilla Primaris some grim-dark character. I used the official Lieutenant shoulder markings, to keep with my conformist theme for the Relictors recent Primaris reinforcements - got to keep Roboute Guilliman on side...
The leather is Mournfang Brown, washed Nuln and highlighted Balor Brown. The rock was some left over green stuff from elsewhere, nothing is wasted :)
And of course, a special mention to the Commission Artist Kooperkape I got chatting to over on Reddit who kindly agreed to use my heads as practice, and a great job he did too! Far better than I could have achieved and really makes this character characterful! The rest of the paintjob is neat and tidy, but what draws you in is the face and shaved hair - brilliant job.

Relictors Chapter Space Marines - Primaris Lieutenant #3 - w/ Power Sword

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, continuing my Primaris Lieutentants, the second one from Dark Imperium is completed, armed with Power Sword and Heavy Bolt Pistol, he sensibly wears his helmet! This makes 3 Lieutentants so far... I have some way to go haha
I again added a icon to the Power Pack to mark him out as a Character on the battlefield, this one was from the old Terminators kit.
The Power Sword was done using Kantor Blue, Sotek Green and Temple Guard Blue, whilst the skull icon above I used a blue wash which worked out really well. The leather was Mournfang / Nuln / Balor Brown and looks great.
Grass tufts was 'burnt grass' from Gamers Grass.
He he is with his Brother Lieutenant from Dark Imperium
And all the Primaris Lieutentants so far... Lt Amulius on the right, a limited edition release.

Legion of the Damned - Veteran Sergeant Attica Centurius

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, an oldie but a goodie this week. A retro mini, not even in Legends now - but I can play as a Sergeant in the Legends LotD Legionnaires Squad, or in friendly games add a 'Ressurection Orb' as the Animus Malorum he is holding aloft.
I added some greenstuff flames to the base to match the other squad members and a suitable 32mm base rather than the smaller 25mm, he is a Character really... The Skull work was shaded using Skeleton Horde.
The backpack was a suitable Dark Angel one with a hooded skull and skull vents, I had this ages ago and put it aside for just this mini.
The rather palid flesh was painted using Kislev Flesh mixed with white and washed with Magos Purple. I chose black pupil less eyes to look almost daemonlike... well, what are they really? Manifestations of the Emperor's Will through the Warp??
And a shot of Veteran Sergeant Attica Centurius with some of his spectral Brothers. The 2013 rules from 6th allowed him to accompany a Legionnaire Squad or have his own 5-man Bodyguard. Whichever way I play it, he'll be a fun little addition.

WeeMen off to Kyton Nova - Titan Owners Club UK Walk Weekend

Lord TITANium Halfpenny and Siph Horridus are both off to the Hive City of Milton Keynes this weekend for the Titan Owners Club UK Walk, at long last after a 2year hiatus due to Nurgle. The Engines of the Warmaster aligned Legio's return to the world of Kyton Nova and the Imperial Legio's look to defend once again.

2019 Walk in MK, 67 Engines in 2019 and this year we are shaping up to around 94 Engines!

Legio Crucius and Legio Astorum will WALK!

Siph at Titan Owners Club UK Walk 2021 - Defence of Kyton Nova

Very reminiscent of 2019 Legio Astorum photo which made it into White Dwarf magazine!
Lord TITANium Halfpenny and I are back from a great weekend of Titan gaming, playing AT28 rules (basically AT rules but 4x scale) and an immense gaming mat and scenery courtesy of Titan Owners Club UK, of which we are on the Admin Staff. I took along Legio Astorum "The Emperor's Halo" Maniple and had a blast.

Today I would like to share some photos of the Legio preparing for action.

Reaver Honorum and Warlord Dominus Victoria
Canis Praetor (centre) was  in the thick of it all weekend and survived unscathed on day two after emergency repairs from catastrophic damage on day one - reaping a tally of two Warhounds from the Mortis lines.
Canis Bellum (here on left) was unusually resistant to fire on day one, taking the firepower of a Warlord and Volcano Cannon Warbringer to no avail, surviving the batttle intact but without any confirmed kills of her own.
Warlord Dominus Victoria was unscathed all weekend, reaping a fearsome damage tally throughout the traitor forces but took 24hrs to get her aim true - a frustrating first day however a Warbringer and a Warhound kills on day two
My Astorum Forces were augmented by brother Engines from Princeps Aaron.
Reaver Honorum reaped a fine tally, firstly a Reaver and then finishing the day with a Mortis Warlord kill and several other Engines, unscathed throughout except some damage in body unit from a Questoris Knight in close combat.
Reaver Aquila Occulus had her first blooding and gained a kill marking for a Mortis Warhound, now undergoing repairs to critical locomotive leg units
It was Canis Victrix's first outing and although she is now undergoing extensive repairs from catastrophic damage on day two, she reaped two Warhounds. 
Lupus Regent provided support throughout the weekend hostilities, never knocking out a Titan however in her squadron reaped a fine tally of damage and voids

Titan Owners Club UK Walk - Titan Line Up

Hello Titan fans, last weekend's Titan Owners Club Walk UK 2021 was an excellent Titanfest, with 91 Engines battling over the Kyton Nova plains. This post shows the traditional Line Up we do at these events, the first impression new Princeps have when attending is an awesome array of what they will be battling for and with - we line up all the Titans, this year we underestimated the sheer size of 91 Engines and 73 Knights - it took the entire length of the room.
