Genestealer Cult - Relic Baneblade - Armorcast Super Detailed Baneblade

HAPPY NEW YEAR, I HOPE TO THE EMPEROR (FOUR ARMED) ITS BETTER THAN 2020!

Hello All, something quite historical and super rare this week, a "Super Detailed Armorcast Baneblade", from before Forge World existed. I have had this model for over 20 years sitting at the bottom of the to-do pile mountain and the time I do have to hobby is spent on painting my current Titans and Relictors, so I shipped off the kit to Castle Brush Studios in Poland for a commission paint job - and I am totally satisfied with the customer experience and end results - thank you to Simon and the team at Castle Brush Studio.
I gave them the kit with a few additions, I had chopped off the original triple Bolter side-sponsons and provided modern plastic ones, removed the front Baneblade Cannon barrel so it represents the modern armament of a Demolisher Cannon, added mud flaps to the front to lengthen the whole tank to the same length as the modern plastic kit, supplied GSC icons and a Tank Commander from the Achilles Ridgerunner buggy set and some Death Korps of Kreig atmospheric filters and Heavy Stubbers - I wanted this tank to look like a relic plundered from the local Planetary Force reserve stores.
Castle Brush Studio through great communication added the scheme I wanted to match my existing GSC forces, and weathered the kit to rightly look like the 3rd line reserve forces abandoned and forgotten - hence the older rarer pattern of Baneblade not the usual mass produced front line units the Guard have.
The Imperial icons were defaced and the stowages supplied with a spare Rock Hammer and Mining Laser.
The Machine Spirit has been defaced and violated in the name of the true Four Armed Emperor...
I love that it is an old kit, you know its a Baneblade but it looks completely different to the modern plastic kit - great to define that this is the relic abandoned reserve of a PDF.
All I did to the great job that Castle Brush Studio did was add a couple of paint streaks to the stenciled graffiti.
I had agreed to have an armoured iris on the Searchlight, however with 2nd thoughts I changed my mind so repainted the glass of the searchlight.
I touched up the Heavy Bolters to have laser range sights to match my existing forces.
I love the look of the tank, a great job by the Studio and the characterful kit means I am very happy with this kit and its great to have it done and off the to-do mountain!
I added the spare metal Track Links to the plain armoured glacis.
This is what the kit looks like, a hybrid resin kit with metal details and some FW/plastics I threw in... I will leave you with some parting shots...
My thanks to Castle Brush Studio for an excellent customer experience, if you have the money and not the time, check them out - they provide an excellent service. Have a great 2021 and hopefully some battles (of the tabletop miniature type!).

Cheers, Siph.

Hello one and all, goodbye 2020, and hello 2021..

It's been a while since I've posted, this was due to the house move, and then the decision not to unpack my weemen until we had the garage conversion completed which will become my geekroom/office space. 6 weeks of work, and here are the results at the moment.

I am going to repaint the walls over the base white, and then start to add my units, games table and desks into position. I also have a loft space in the void above the ceiling to hide my pile of plastic shame away to keep the room looking tidy.

I am really missing the hobby, with having around 5 months completely away from it - I still haven't located my brushes yet!

Thanks for swinging by, I will hopefully have further updates next week!

Imperial Knights - Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum - Cerastus Castigator 'Heretics Bane'

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. I've added to my Knight Banner - the Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum ranks have now swelled with the addition of a Cerastus Knight from Forge World, a Castigator. Meet Sir Geraint riding Cerastus Castigator 'Heretics Bane'.
This was an eBay purchase, the previous owner had done a decent job, I just brightened up the blue panels leaving weathering in the recesses, painted a few red panels back to blue, re-did some trim, added detailing like dials and LEDs and painted some cables, pistons etc.
The groin power couplings were missing so I added some cables from a Necron Night Scythe kit in the ports between leg and groin. I added some slate to the base and repainted the base to match my own forces, and added some tufts.
I added the Legio Astorum decals and the Aquila details to the shins, the cheques were done already I just did some tidying up and repainted the white panels Astorum yellow.
The barrels were painted black and some blue power effects were added to the Sword.
Another Legio Astorum decal finishes off the transformation from perhaps Terryn, to Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum. A nice addition to the Knights force, now quite a few Knight Engines!

Cheers, Siph.

Imperial Knights - Freeblades - Gerantius the Forgotten Knight

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. So, two Editions of 40K late and no longer OP, I finally got around to getting a representation of the much maligned 'Gerantius', 'The Forgotten Knight' special character.
Not my own work, a eBay purchase and a few tweaks to make my own. I added the Gerantius Decals to the shoulder Pauldrons, weapon and Banner, the original only had two smaller freehand decals plus the shin decals. It is an excellent paint job, neat highlights and clean looking - I like it, Gerantius must have good support in system!
I also swapped both arms, the original had them the other way around but in all artwork, and the shape of the weapon shield it made sense to swap them back, so a razor saw and some glue and harmony was restored.
I added a small red skull kill marking for interest, and based the knight like all my other forces, adding some slate chips from the garden. The tufts are from Gamers Grass and the base is Mournfang Brown (Caltham Brown pot from the basing set now OOP, I have a litre of it!), Ushabti Bone and Karak Stone drybrushing on base and slate.
I am pleased to finally have Gerantius, The Forgotten Knight in the forces available - game wise he can be a Freeblade with Questoris Errant equipment, not so OP as before, but a nice historic addition nevertheless!

Cheers, Siph.

Legio Astorum Warhound Titan "Canis Victrix" - WIP #1 - Basecoat and Arms

Hello Titanseers, hot on the completion of my Reaver Titan "Aquila Oculus" before Christmas, I dived into my next Titan project, a second hand Warhound Titan. This came with the certificate and spare Carapace, Shins and Head armour and a massive round plinth base - all of which I sold and bought an Inferno Gun arm and custom eyepiece inserts shown above, offsetting the cost considerably so a win win bargain!

This is Mars Pattern Warhound Titan No.4 for me, and Certificate No.3615, so a fairly aged Titan now, I think Forge World are now in the region of 6500 sold. "Canis Victrix" or 'Victorious Hound' will join it's Brother Engines' No.10 "Canis Bellum"; No.2974 "Canis Praetor" and No.4189 "Lupus Regent".

The Titan came constructed but I have partially deconstructed it for painting and strengthening with JB Weld and pins, and a slight rebuild of toes as they were designed to the custom base I removed it from.

The first Arm to get painted was the Turbolaser Destructor, a favourite weapon for me, all my Warhounds thus far have one. Its decent strength, range and damage output make it a great choice if coupled with something multi-shot or lower strength for void stripping and anti-heavy infantry (if playing 40K). I heat stained the barrels my usual method of black drybrush, Nuln Oil, Drakenhof Nightshade blue, Leviathan Purple, Seraphim Sepia over the Leadbelcher/Nuln/Agrax metal. The missing Power Couplings resin hoses have been replaced with flexible hoses (rubber skipping rope) for ease of arm swaps.
The alternative weapon arm is a Vulcan Mega Bolter, or the above mentioned Inferno Cannon, I've painted the Vulcan Mega Bolter to match my existing weapons on Canis Bellum, and above you can see the heat stained barrels. This too will have a power coupling of flexible hose up into the 'armpit' area, seen below.
The weapon received some verdigris after seeing the same on my mate John H's own Astorum Warhound, and I kept the armour clean and ready for battle honours etc.  All the arms have been magnetised to allow swap outs in the future, the weapon arm has a washer glued in place, the arm socket itself a rod magnet inside the upper arm for a strong bond. As this was second hand I removed the weak disc magnets used as they were only just capable of bonding - replaced with 20mm x 8mm diameter Neodymium rods - with about 2.5 kg pulling power.
The carapace was repainted, the original owner had a blue scheme but too light and heavily weathered, so a fresh coat of Kantor Blue was laid down and then masked off for some stripe work characteristic of my Maniple. The above image show the step before the trim is painted gold, The blue has been edged with Night Lords Blue in the recesses.
The previous owner had a Legio Gryphonicus banner made so I repurposed it using some existing Legio Astorum banners Drake at Titan Owners Club / Battle Bunnies had made for me. Cheers mate, the back of the banner proudly displays the TOC coat-of-arms too. I added a few of the FW resin Purity Seals that come with Titan kits too and the finials from an Imperial Knight kit.

I am pleased with my progress, this will be Titan No.7 for the Emperor's Halo Maniple of the Legio Astorum. Oh dear... I think I have a problem (a great one to have!!)

Cheers, Princeps Seniores Siph.

Legio Astorum Warhound Titan "Canis Victrix" - WIP #2 - Main Torso

Hello Titanseers, thanks for dropping by. I have continued to work on the second hand Warhound Titan, my "Canis Victrix". I finished the torso, repainted the armour and trim and finished detailing the insides. Above you can see the 10mm rod magnets in the arms, the arms are glued and pinned in place. I was rather pleased with my neat chevrons on the elevator/entry hatch.

You can also see the magnet in the waist socket firmly glued in, I decided not to replace this one, the socket and existing magnet provide enough force and friction to hold the torso firmly on the waist without movement.
Inside the internal bulkhead to the reactor compartment was fitted and the details finished off. The original owner had made a start but the details like purity seals, gold work, screens etc needed doing.
Here is a closer pict capture before the internal bulkhead was fitted. The missing array of vents /exhausts on the rear of the carapace in-between the Armour panels was replaced with an armoured sheet from an IG vehicle and two 'exhausts' from the Cities of Death buildings frames.
The armour trim was given two coats of Vallejo Brass and the stripes tidied up where the paint had bled on the tape edges.
The Armour Trim was washed with Reikland Fleshshade and Astorum decal applied, and gloss coated for protection - this will get a further lacquer coat later so the decal edges won't be so visible.
The completed Torso
Proudly displaying the Certificate of Authenticity number No.3615
And lastly where I have got up to, the main bulk of the titan is completed, but I still have the Head Unit, Inferno Cannon, Legs and Base to do, so about halfway for sure.

Thanks for dropping in to check my progress, cheers, Siph.

Terrain and Scenery - Simple Cheap Scatter Terrain - Pipeline

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, sometimes the simplest and cheapest ideas can make decent terrain and enhance the battlefield. In the past I have made cake tray Power Turbines, noodle pot Generators, CD stack Fuel Storage Tanks and pencil pot Watchtowers and dice box Ammunition Crates - but today is cardboard tube pipelines.
The paintjob took 3mins... and drying time. Spray black, spray leadbelcher, drybrush rust and brass and mud - done.
The five tubes came as packaging around some handles, more sturdy than loo roll but the tube inside aluminium foil or cling film/plastic wrap should do if cut to size.
Using PVA/Elmers Glue along the lengths in pairs at first then stacked and glued. Simple stack of pipes for scatter terrain and well needed cover for infantry and smaller vehicles.
Done - cheapest and quickest ever... looks passable too!

Cheers, hopefully it helps someone attempt some terrain, it really does enhance the enjoyment of the game. Find my other Terrain ideas at the links above or using the sidebar Label: TERRAIN.

Relictors Primaris Marines - Phobos Librarian

Hello All, thanks for dropping in to see my latest addition to the ever expanding Relictors Space Marine Battle Company. Not all my own work, saw this as a bargain on eBay and thought I could adapt it with a little work to become a Relictor Phobos Librarian.
I repainted the backpack and the shoulder Pauldrons, did the base and the leather belts and holster. Plus the gold work and contrast painted over the Force Sword to give my characteristic purple Force Weapon colour.
Tidied up the scrolls and the keys, so basically kept the cloak and the under armour so 90% of mini is as I bought, I just re-did all the detailing to suit me.
I cut away a decal to fit the shoulder Pauldron, showing my Relictors Chapter badge.
The psychic blue OSL was there already, the main thing which attracted me to the purchase - and an hours work I was done with a new addition to the force. My fledgling Primaris reinforcements continue to grow...

Cheers, Siph.

Legio Astorum Warhound Titan "Canis Victrix" - WIP #3 - Legs

$

Hello Titanseers, welcome to another update on where I am at with this second-hand 'Hound, now Walks for Legio Astorum and has legs to do so! I pretty much repainted the legs entirely, with exception of the metallic silver structure basecoat - so all the toes, ball joints, pistons and armour.
The detailing on the Warhound toes is exquisite, four skulls and an Aquila on each toe, plus pistons to grime and shine (the cylinders shiny whilst the build up of grime at the end). Each ankle piston has an Aquila too and a skull and an Opus Mechanicus. I repainted the toe armour and trim and the foot base a dirty Leadbelcher. You can see I cleaned off and filed the armour mounting strip too, this had a lot of old superglue attached.
The thigh armour was removed for painting, and firmly glued back once the thigh was stripped of paint on the hidden facing and cross-hatched for better adhesion, these plates unless firmly glued tend to pop off when picking up and manoeuvring the Titan, one has a slight pin extending out of the surface instead of flush, so I drilled a cavity on the corresponding underside of the armour to allow a flush fitting around it. Groin armour was repainted and hip pistons given the same treatment.
I used Stormhost Silver for a bright clean ball joint and raised the rear toes so the weight of the Titan was on the toes, not the flat foot - these are nimble machines, the toes were snapped off, filed and re-pinned and glued to change the footing somewhat.
The freshly painted Shins were anointed in Astorum blue and received a Titan Owners Club coat of arms. You can still see the 'Ardcoat sealant over the surface, once the titan is completely lacquered you won't see this difference.
And the finished article, legs reconstructed and repainted. the outermost toes and inner left leg toe are slightly raised from the original base standing in craters, so I will use some slate chips to insert under the raised toes for a firm weight distribution and look.
Here you can see the raised outer toe, ripe for a stone, no rocky ground can slow a Warhound! The actual weight will be carried on the three toes and rear toes plus a black screw from the underside of the base up into the foot - meaning the fragile toes are just stability really, the screw from the base will take the majority of the downward force.
And finally, a close up of the shin with the name scrollwork, Canis Victrix will Walk! Check back next week, nearly done with this 'Hound.

Cheers, Siph.

Legio Astorum Warhound Titan "Canis Victrix" - WIP #4 - Base and Head

$

Hello Titanseers, thanks for dropping by. The next instalment of my Warhound journey is dealing with the head and spare weapon and the base to make the legs super stable and strong. Above shows the head armour cowling sprayed with Army Painter Daemonic Yellow and some pre-shading of blended Averland Sunset to form the darker areas. The eye optics were custom resin eyes to replace the plain plastic 'window' lenses.
Once I gave the head two thin coats of Forge World Sigsmund Yellow Clear paint it gives a really rich yellow over the spray and pre-shading. I then did the trim with Vallejo Brass and Reikland Flesh Shade and lined with Citadel Black Ink. I also did the Princeps and Moderati, the previous owner had a basic scheme for the Princeps and Moderati were not yet painted or fitted, I also repaired the headrest on one seat.
The eye sensors look great, and fit in with the aesthetic of the Warlord and under the Reaver eye lenses. The astute among you may recognise the cabling on the neck - it was missing from the second-hand job, so I chopped up some Necron Tesseract Vault cabling to fit into the cable glands on the head and torso.
The neck is magnetised hence the fitting one end only. The armoured studs on the face and trim were highlighted with Auric Armour gold to brighten them.
The base is 6mm MDF cut and sanded. I then marked out where the titan physically connects to the base, the Warhound is a nimble Titan, so not flat footed and up on raised toes. I had some great black screws from a plastic shed build so ideal for fastening the resin foot to the base, these will take the majority of the loading meaning the toes won't be stressed too much.
Using a Forstner bit, on the underside I made a recess for the screw head so the base sits flush.
Once I applied PVA and sand and sealed with diluted PVA, I painted the gravel leaving the connection points free for a strong bond.
I positioned rocks where the toes had been modelled slighty raised (the original base had craters in which the feet sat), this actually looked great and made the feet look natural and 'blended' into the base.
The other foot, again with natural slate chips - they will be left natural, just sealed with varnish. The toes will be epoxy resin glued to base and slate chips.
The completed base, with tufts and drybrushing applied. The feet will be sealed with matt varnish along with the base whilst the rest of the titan gets a clear satin lacquer, this makes the feet look 'dusty' compared to the armour plates.
The Inferno Gun, I bought this new to supplement the armament as Canis Bellum has already got a Turbolaser Destructor and Vulcan Mega Bolter, so a nice big flaming death template (in AT28mm its flipping huge cone!) is called for!
I did some rather nice (imho) heat staining on the barrels and burn marks on the muzzle guard, this was 4 washes (L-R Sepia / Leviathan Purple / Drakenhof Nightshade / Nuln and brasswork was Balthasar Gold / Warplock Bronze / Abaddon Black) and the edges were brightened with a quick light Leadbelcher drybrush.
The magnet was drilled into the arm which was cut down flush to the weapon. I also used some of my flexible rubber skipping rope as power cable to disappear into the 'armpit' of the carapace.

Just construction and sealing to do. Next post will be the completed Titan and Scout Maniple! (Yes, I now have a squadron of Scout Titans!?!)

Cheers, Siph.

Hello Titanseers, thanks for dropping in to see the completed Titan! Canis Victrix Walks! Seen above with the mighty Titan Inferno Cannon as well as the Turbolaser Destructor.
The default armament that came with this second hand Titan was the Vulcan Mega Bolter and TLD. Both unpainted but ready for being magnetised with washers built into the socket. I added rod magnets to the arms to carry whatever weapon I chose.
The banner printed by the talented Drake Seta from Battle Bunnies blog. I just adapted it to fit the banner template I have, if you look closely at the Astorum sigil you can see I extended the blue field and added the purity seals
I really love the striped Carapace!
Titan Owners Club motif on the reverse of the banner and also repeated on the right Shin Armour panel.
A mighty fine scout Titan addition to the growing Maniple "The Emperor's Halo" of Legio Astorum.

A close up of the Titan Owners Club decal, on a white background template from a stencil then applied and tidied up with the blue around the edges.
The proud Moderati and Princeps
Fully magnetised for storage / transport and weapon swaps.
The scouting Titans of the Maniple, in AT up to three can combine voids, so I will play these as two pairs in the next Titan Owners Club Walk UK in the summer (post-Covid)...

Cheers all, my your Reactors burn hot and your Plasma hotter!

Relictors Space Marine Rogue Trader Predator - RTB08

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, my latest (and somewhat ancient) addition to the 4th Company Relictors is an old school cool RTB08 Space Marine Predator Assault Tank.
(I remember buying these boxes from Oxford Street Plaza Games Workshop)
I added my usual shield boss skull face all my Relictors vehicles have, and a modern front rake and a sensor and grab rails from AdMech kits. The long side rails are missing but thats totally usual with second hand kits.
The original box art had small pennant flags showing Chapter Icon and Company/Squadron number so I obliged with some paper banners and decals, on paperclip aerials as the original were in a bad way.
The kit when received was heavily coated in thick chalky paint, no idea what it was, not acrylic or enamel, probably craft paint and thick white to cover up... anyway, the worst bits got sanded down flat but I just overpainted the majority as it was too difficult to remove - just adds to the charm.
The model was sprayed Uniform Grey from Army Painter, metallics picked out with Abaddon Black and tidied up with Codex Grey (Dawnstone) and metals a variety of Leadbelcher, Warlock Brass and some black sooting on exhaust stacks.
I added some purity seals to this relic of the Chapter and the spare crates on the rear marked with Company green and numeral 4, and Chapter badge white skull on black field. The pennants followed suite.
Here it is with my other 4th Company vehicle, a Mk1b Rhino.
And next to the modern variant.

Cheers for checking this old school beauty out. Cheers, Siph (5pts)

Relictors Space Marines Primaris - Impulsor Transport - WIP

Hi all, thanks for dropping by. I'm away with work so these are coming as scheduled posts for as long as I have progress and can get a wi-fi signal in far away places.

I was a big fan of the Impulsor 'swift attack grav-transport, the legendary flying Rhino in my mind, however I wasn't a big fan of the half truck open back but saw a decent enclosed kit from Models and Minis for a good price too. Seems that it's a one-man business and he has a massive backlog of orders, so there was delays (expect long delays) but after some correspondence and explaining his predicament I was happy to wait, and not disappointed, high quality kit and sweet look too. Compatible with the top turret ring connection and I easily magnetised the ring to swap out turrets.

The kit was half built to this point so I could spray the grav plates Leadbelcher and paint the struts easily. I recommend this approach with most vehicles, speeds up the painting and you can get to all the fiddly bits.
Here is where I am with the kit at the time of writing, just an aerial and the Icarus Missile Pod turret not pictured, they are sprayed black as my turrets are often black on the grey hulls.

With the enclosed hull, I REALLY like the shape of this kit, and can't wait to get a few Gladiator tanks too, in my opinion much nicer than the floaty-Land Raider Repulsor. This feels like a decent modernisation of the Rhino kit (now its enclosed) and if you don't mind a wait (again at time of writing - may improve), I thoroughly recommend getting this conversion kit.

Cheers, Siph

Adeptus Custodes - Caladius Grav Tank

$

Hello all, thanks for dropping by. My latest offering from my scheduled pile, is a Custodes Caladius Grav-Tank, not to be confused with the Callidus Assassin! Both deadly.

This tank is armed with the fearsome double-barrelled Iliastus accelerator cannon, an advanced weapon which was to become the precursor to the main weapon of the Legiones Astartes Sicaran Battle Tank. The Grav-Tank is also armed with a twin-linked Lastrum bolt cannon, exemplars of bolt-weapon technology whose bolt shells are customised mass-reactive heliothermic warheads... they hurt.
The decals were from the FW Custodes decal sheet. The red is a clear red over the gold base colour, giving a nice metallic red finish. The gold is Retributor washed Reikland and a highlight of Auric Armour.
The design at the rear is similar to the modern Impulsor and Repulsor craft, probably lifted from this by Belasarius Cawl. The gold in this picture has been washed out by the camera, but is the same as the surrounding areas.
Completely different from the rest of the Imperial stocky bulky un-streamlined vehicle range, which I really like, sets the Custodes apart more than a 'gold' Land Raider! I drilled a hole in the bottom, added a perspex rod to mount the skimmer, I did add magnets but they came away from the rod and now two reside up in the hull... but the rod acts as a decent enough support without magnets. The base was done my usual recipe Mournfang Brown / Karak Stone / Ushabti Bone and slate chip from garden.
I may have to get a few more in time, but a nice addition for now to my fledgling Adeptus Custodes force.

Hello Titan fans! Just a quick post today to show the Titan Maniple as it stands now, in all its Golden, Yellow and Blue livery! Yes I am suitably proud of myself, I added my own schemes to the three first ones painted by Richard Gray (three on right) and they all look great together!

They are:

Rear L to R - Reaver Aquila Oculus; Warlord Dominus Victoria and Reaver Honorum.

Front L to R - Warhounds Lupus Regent; Canis Victrix; Canis Praetor and Canis Bellum.

And just to top that! Here they are with the supporting Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum!

(Happy Titan noises...)

Adeptus Titanicus - Legio Mortis Reaver Titan

$

Hello all, thanks for dropping in. I have finally after a long time procrastinating and painting the big Titans, gotten around to painting some of my Adeptus Titanicus boxed game mini-Titans.
I plumped for a traitor Legio to contrast my main 40K Titan force of staunch loyalist Legio Astorum, I did think about recreating them in miniature but the draw of painting something different and a different mindset was too great. I also love the Mortis scheme of classic blacks/reds/gold which looks effective, also over a black basecoat is quite quick to do.
As you can see the titan has been fully magnetised for weapon swaps, each weapon has a 5mm x 1mm disc magnet, the arms two 2mm x 2mm rod magnets and the left arm swaps out with magnets so the close combat arms can replace the ranged weapons. Seen above with the Titan Power Fist.
I bought several sheets of Legio Mortis decals from Forge World (I learnt my lesson from FW withdrawing the large Titan decal sheets - I have plenty) and the main colours are Abaddon Black, Retributor Gold and Mephiston Red, all washed with Agrax.
I also wanted a break from my usual Mournfang Brown bases, and chose something quick and smaller grain sized to help with scale, so GW Texture Armageddon Dust, washed Agrax and highlighted Ushabti Bone and a black bevelled edge - a departure from my normal is refreshing and this different game system allows a change.
It is rather refreshing all round painting a Titan in only a few days and having different schemes, loyalties and bases. I am happy with my choices.
I will have to think of a suitable treacherous name for this traitor Engine! Onward and upward, I have another Reaver, two Warlords, two Warhounds and a Warbringer to add for starters. I'll look forward to some games of AT in the future when back in the country.

Cheers, Siph. (5pts AT Titan)

Titan Mori-Quake Cannon - WIP

$

Hello Titanseers, thanks for dropping by, a quick post on the progress I made on my additional Titan armaments, the Mori-Quake Cannon is the main armament of the Warbringer Nemesis Titan and Forge World have also made it for the main arm weapons of the mighty Warlord Titan.

Construction is easy enough and a large 8mm diameter by 30mm rod magnet in the arm coupling provides ample pull to stay firmly in place hanging from the Warlord elbow.
I also added Aquila symbols from a Warhound kit to the Ammo Hopper, to re-affirm my loyalty to the God Emperor of course and bless the ammunition!
Size wise, a lot stubbier than the Belicosa Volcano Cannons, as long as the Sunfury Plasma Annihilator and a wide fat girthy barrel says alot about the damage potential of this beast of a cannon - large calibre shells which in game (AT28mm rules and AT) can knock the enemy Titans sideways or backward, literally, messing up their fire control solutions and against an un-shielded opponent, massive damage.

Cheers, Siph

Relictors Sternguard Squad w/ Heavy Bolters

$

Hello All, thanks for dropping by, not only have I been busy with Titans of various sizes, I always come back to my first love, my ever expanding Relictors Chapter Battle Company. Long overdue are some Sternguard Veterans.
These are made from a variety of kits including the Sternguard Boxset, Horus Heresy plastics, old metal Sternguard set and some Dark Angel Veterans. The skeleton adorned back packs was a set of back packs from the old Cypher and Fabius Bile metal miniatures released as a blister pack of 10 for a short time to get rid of stock I guess. I have used them across several Veteran Squads.
The Sternguard Sergeant is based on a Betrayal at Calth marine with a Sternguard cloaked rear torso and head. I rather like his pose, swishing back the cloak.
The above Sternguard are from the plastics (left) and metal (right) Sternguard boxsets. I love the Special Ammo Bolter Sternguard on the right, so that made this squad Special Ammo Bolters and Heavy Bolters rather than Combi-Weapons.
The two Heavy Weapon Sternguard are based on Dark Angel Veterans (left) with Scout Heavy Bolter and modern plastics Sternguard HB (right). The ammo back pack also gives him a lot more height.

Two of these had been painted a long time ago, (Sep 2010 and Mar 2009) so its about time I finished the squad!

Hobby Update - Whilst Away Working - Survival Kit

$

Hi all, thanks for dropping by, I often have to work away from the WeeMen Room and all my hobby goodness, so when I have to go away I take a little hobby with me. This is my simple set up at work, during downtimes at sea I can get the chance to get out the hobby - just so I don't forget why I work!
Manage much? Nope, but that's not the point - the point was to chill in the evening and take 5mins out of the day to forget the ship and duties and focus on something a little smaller. This is about all I managed to construct of a Warbringer Nemesis Titan for AT. I sprayed the sprues black before deploying so it was a case of trimming and filing and a little gluing.
This is my little hobby kit, few brushes and tools in a biscuit tin, some paints - limited but enough to progress a Titan if needed.
I also managed some of the prep work for some weapons, a Warlord Macro Gatling Blaster and a Mori Quake Cannon ready now for scrubbing and then painting.

I also was sent in the mail a small Necron kit to have, so I took advantage of the time to get that ready for painting when home.
Now home for a bit, I can hopefully get more done, here was the progress with the WBNT, ready for some sub-assembly painting at this stage.
And just so I could justify taking all those paints with me - I painted a Reaver Chainfist arm for my Mortis Reaver.

Not much, but all progress is good progress on hobby projects!

Relictors Primaris Firestrike Servo-Turret

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. The Primaris Force I have is slowly growing, and this was a nice stocking filler I picked up for myself, done in a couple of sittings and is really nice addition.
I chose the Las Talon weapons as some decent strength and AP can't do any harm, the Accelerator Autocannon are double the range S7 -1AP and 2 Dmg, whereas the twin Las Talon is a short range Lascannon.
I love the fact the Techmarine Gunner is fused to the machine, seeing through its auspex and data spike plugged in one side and the other loose, and his bionic arm plugged in too.
I chose to do my Techmarine's red armour to honour Mars but grey arms and helmet to honour the Chapter. Its a scheme replicated across the three Thunderfire Techmarines with various grey and red sections.
There is a lot of detail in this kit even though its a push-fit kit, you can't really tell and its done well.
I've also raised the platform slightly on a clear perspex stand so the Gravatic Ventral Plates hover just above the ground.
A view the enemy doesn't want to see, I've chosen Heavy Support chevron, it's primarily a defensive weapon, the Firestrike Servo-turret lays down withering volleys of fire to secure flanks or the Space Marines’ base of operations and can move position on the gravatic ventral plates to gain better positions as the fires rage on.
The perspex mount fits nicely into the base.
A nice effect achieved with minimal work, not sure why they didn't include a rod - maybe the push-fit compromise?
