Legio Astorum Warlord Titan Build - WIP #8 - Main Torso

Hello Avid Titan Builders, hopefully you'll find these post of interest, thanks for dropping in.

Right, here we have the main torso of the titan, I started off following the instructions, using the Torso Lower Rear and the Front Plate as guide pieces, just gluing the two Torso Lower side pieces first. Separate to this, glue the two Upper Rear Torso pieces together, this is an important precursor, and should be done a day in advance of the Torso, this will be used as a guide piece later for the sides and will prevent it drooping. If you attempt the Torso rear without these pieces glued together the whole Torso could miss-align as this piece droops and then fitting the Exhaust Vents and lid Carapace will be more difficult.

I then started the boxing in of the Torso itself, glued the lower rear to the Torso Base Plate along with the two Lower Side Pieces - (First photo above shows what I mean too). The Torso Front piece is also just as a guide, not glued at this stage, and enables you to clamp the pieces into the correct shape.
Once the three lower pieces were dry, the next day I set about gluing the Torso Upper Rear pieces which I did earlier, shown above, you can see the glue in between these in the top left of the picture, these are now one solid piece. These will also be pinned for strength and integrity.
The model provides great areas for these pins.
The two Rear Upper Pieces glued earlier can now slot into place without drooping. You can see the Pin holes and where they line up with the Rear Lower Torso piece to make a super strong base of the Torso main body.
Here you can see the two constructed rear pieces now in position ready for gluing and pinning finally to the Rear Torso piece and the two Lower Sides. This was left overnight to dry. The Upper Side Torso Plate (the big curved one) is there as a guide at this stage, to make sure I am not messing it up.
Next, the two large curved Torso Upper Side pieces were held in place by dry fitting the Carapace lid to ensure the correct angles and joins. The side pieces were then clamped in place whilst the glue dried. The top Carapace is not glued, just used as a guide.
So now the Torso should look something like this. Getting there, now the side panels are sturdy and dried, next the Torso Front Plate will be fitted. Ensure everything is sturdy and dry before attempting the final side of the main body box - it should be a tight close fit so some leverage will be required, hence leave these to dry completely before manipulating the final piece into place.
Here is the Torso Front Plate being fitted, this is why the rest needs to be completely dry and sturdy before attempting the front piece, it will be a tight fit and to ensure a tight bond the clamps will need to be used so everything is close and neat and tidy.  If you are attempting the whole Torso in a day, these clamps will quickly undo all your hard work and alignments, so take your time and use the next pieces as a guide for the first and repeat the piece by piece construction - slowly.

The instructions then have you fitting the 'lid' next, but I want to ensure the shoulders are pinned internally to prevent possible arm "droopage", leaving it off means I can get to the internal sides of the large curved Upper Torso Side plates and correctly drill guide holes for pins, so I am leaving off the Carapace lid for now.
Finally, (for my Torso) the main parts of the Torso are complete (with exception of the Carapace 'lid', Carapace Armour Panel and Void Exhausts) by fitting the Stabilizers and mountings for the four Secondary Weapons and Chest Armour Plate Mountings.

This is shaping up to be a massive model, the words 'Miniature' do not apply to this beast! I am enjoying the slow build, it is awesome fun and everyday I have another glued section or piece to add.

Thanks for dropping in, hopefully your New Year's Eve celebrations are enjoyable whatever you get up to. From all of us at Weemen, we wish you a prosperous and Weeman filled New Year!

Happy New Year fellow Bloggers and Readers, thanks for dropping by. Here is my first offering of the New Year. I am continuing slowly with the Titan build, however I have a few Ad Mech and Mechanicum stuff to finish off too. This beast is a Thanatar Class Siege-Automaton armed with the lobbing Helex Plasma Mortar, large blast ordnance S8 AP2 fun-ness.
This is a cool looking Forgeworld model, also armed with a twin linked Mauler Boltcannon, which is a marine killing AP3.
I love the look of the magazine ammo feed for the Boltcannon as well as that great Plasma Mortar.
And if you get too close, he'll just hopefully squish you with S8 Monsterous Creature CC attacks.
Here is a shot with the other Mechanicum units I have already completed, these Castellax should keep the enemies at optimum Hellex Plasma Mortar range!

Thanks for dropping in. Happy New Year.

Using Betrayal At Calth Miniatures in 40K - Mordaci Blaylock WIP

Hello Readers and Titan Enginseers, I thought I'd have a break from the massive Warlord scale hobby and do some tinkering with the Horus Heresy Betrayal At Calth (BaC) box miniatures, now, I have enough 40K to get on with and paint more Relictors without starting a HH Legion as well but the BaC box does give a great addition to my forces and the game can still be played using Relictors!

Lord Halfpenny suggested that the Captain Aethon in BaC could be used for a character found in Forgeworld's IA9 Badab War Pt1, Captain Mordaci Blaylock - ideal as he is armed with Storm Bolter and Chainfist called Foe Ripper.

I removed the Combi-Melta and added a modern '40k' era Storm Bolter and a Iron Halo and done. Captain Mordaci Blaylock - The BaC Captain is an ideal miniature for this Character of renown, has blinged up Termie Armour and a cloak, his special rules also make all Terminator Squads Scoring Units - in 7th we (weemen) interpret that as Obj Sec as everyone can score these days.
I then set about thinking what to do with the Word Bearer's Chaplain Kurtha Sedd, well a nice addition of a Combi-Grav and Bolt Pistol in place of the Crozius and we have a Sternguard Sergeant, or Captain as I please. I carefully removed the hand holding the long Crozius so the wrist guard is not damaged and the oversized Crozius and gauntlet can be used in another conversion later if needed. I have enough Chaplains at the moment.
The base was from Secret Weapon Miniatures. Suited his close together feet and gives him some 'character' height. Just held together with sticky putty for ease of painting in sub-assemblies.

Thanks for dropping in.

Legio Astorum Warlord Titan Build - WIP #9 - Shoulders

Welcome Readers and Titan Builders, here is the latest installment of the titan build. I wanted the shoulders to be extra strong hold and I know a lot of weight will be pulling down on these parts. Needless to say, Forge World have done a great job of having a great design with a small triangle shoulder design where the Shoulder Mounts meet the top side of the Shoulder itself, so thereby making it a strong design to prevent sagging.

I started off the shoulders with roughing up the flat plates with the Dremel, this will maximise the surface area for the super strong JB Weld to glue - btw, now finished off my 3rd tube, so you'll need at least 4 x 25ml tubes for the whole titan!
Once JB Weld was applied, I clamped into place, ensuring I went slowly and one side at a time. I left this 24hrs to harden completely - again, slow and steady.
Once dried, I drilled holes and pinned the shoulder in three places, top into the pipe assemply on top of the shoulder, drilled from inside, and two pins in the bottom. Assemble the second Shoulder and repeat the pinning process.
These pins will be covered when the two arm pistons are in place. Saves having to green stuff over them later! I leave the pins to dry overnight also.
While the Torso and Shoulders dried, I got on with more construction. The Carapace Weapon Mounts were first glued and clamped on the Shoulder Mounts before assembly to the Torso. Not forgetting the clever re-inforcement the shoulder mount gets from the small looped pipe piece underneath, thus giving a neat cruciform join at the Torso Sideplate.
The completed Shoulder Mounts where glued and clamped to the Torso (Torso Lid again there for strength, not yet glued as I want to pin the interior).
This shows why I have not yet glued the Torso Top Carapace plate on the model yet, I can get into the titan to pin the tops of the Shoulder Mounts for extra strong reinforcement. This pin goes into the Weapon Mount itself.
And finally, a view of the Torso to date, other than fitting the lid, one little job left, and that is to drill down into the Arms when fitted, through the Shoulder and Shoulder Mounts, locking all three together at the exterior edge of the titan, forming the super strong triangle mount I mentioned - clever FW design.

Thanks for reading this far, and next up, Titan progress with the arms themselves. Cheers, Siph.

Terrain and Scenery - Promethium Relay Pipelines

$

Hello Readers, whilst at Warhammer World in November I picked up a set of these Promethium Relay Pipes to add to my vast Terrain set - never have too much to choose from. I decided that I would construct the pieces (4 Large, 4 Small) in four sets as the rules say you need to field them with at least one other piece anyway. And the scheme followed on from my Fuel Storage Tanks and the objective marker Fuel Dump.
This is the Command piece I guess where you control the flow rates etc. So I made a dump of fuel cans and a tool kit to siphon off the fuel. This rule set allows Flamers to gain Torrent when near the pipes. The paint job was a Red Halfords Primer followed by Tornado Red Halfords car spray, washed with heavy wash of Nuln Oil and drybrushed with Macharius Solar Orange Foundation Paint and then Leadbelcher. Real quick and easy.
I like to base the Terrain I have, but I wanted then to still connect properly so I made the bases smaller than the ends of the pipes to allow overlap.
This is the only single piece I have. But it has a three way choice of where it connects to other pieces.
One broken pipe, actually two pieces, one large and one small. I weathered the ground around the break so show burnt/polluted earth.
Here is the second broken pipe pieces.
All the pieces together.
And a shot with the Fuel Dump and Fuel Storage Tanks.
And if you were wondering, the rules are easily found under the pump controls, thats why I had space for the fuel cans! Points value scored out for copyright reasons but only as much as a Terminator, not bad for 4+ cover save and Torrent Flame Weapons, my Relictors (Salamanders) Vulkan He'Stan approves. Thanks for dropping in.

Forge World Greater Brass Scorpion of Khorne

Hi All,
I've recently had the pleasure of painting and building a Greater Brass Scorpion of Khorne. I've got to say this was one of my favourite kits to plan, build and paint. I had always really liked the FW, heavy metal team's Brass Scorpion, loving the paint scheme. I know I'm nowhere near that standard, however I wanted to test myself. The other major point is that I do not currently own a spray gun- thus I wanted to see what I could do without one!
The Scorpion was washed and prepared as per normal FW kits. I then checked to make sure all the parts fitted correctly as well as making sure all parts were present!

I am one of those builders that prefers to build the entire kit, or to utilise sub assemblies. However the Brass Scorpion is probably best done as independent units. The only portion I initially built the body, however all armour plates and legs/arms were left to be completed separately.

Using Black spray to undercoat all parts, I then sprayed the parts with a combination of brass and silver from spray cans. The Brass covered the entire model, and the silver done to not completely cover the Brass underneath.

I then did something I don't normally do - I would have normally dived in and started painting armour panels and legs all in one go. Instead, I painted up a single leg piece to see, a) whether I could achieve the scheme I wanted, b) How the scheme would actually look. I made a list of the colours used to make sure I could repeat the process.
The scheme was them applied to all the other armour plates and legs/body etc. The scheme was:
  • Base Chaos Black spray
  • Brass then Silver model spray
  •  Mephiston Red lines within the armour plate showing Silver 'circles' from the undercoat
  • 2 coats of Carroburg Crimson Wash
  • Wash of Bloodletter Red Glaze
  • Evil Sunz Red within the Silver circles, showing some of the Silver as edges to the Evil Sunz
  • A wash of Agrax Earthshade
  • Wild Rider Red stippled within the Evil Sunz red circles
  • Wash of Agrax
  • Final wash of 'ardcoat
For the Brass edging i used a simpler pallet of colours:
  • Brass Scorpion
  • Nuln Oil Wash
  • Highlighted with Leadbleacher
The cabling section was a double wash of Nuln Oil over the Silver/Brass basecoat. All weapons were picked out with black, then highlighted with a light dry brush of Leadbleacher. The bodies within the cabling were picked out in Codex Grey, then washed with Nuln Oil, then grey highlighted, and then a final wash of Tharaka Green - to give them a deathly pale complexion. The model had its claws covered with Blood for the Blood God Technical Paint to give it a 'Blood for the Blood God' feel - with freshly spilt blood from its latest victims.
Overall I'm really happy with the final look of the Scorpion, it reflects light differenetly as the light catchers the armour plates which was something I was hoping for. I'm glad I took the time to plan this project, and feel that it is reflected in the final look of the model, and photographed in my new Foldio2 light box, cheers Siph ;) I hope you like! Thanks for dropping by.

New Year, New Army - Vior'la Sept Tau

$

As GW was selling some great value New Army bundles, I bought a Tau one along with several other kits and the Damocles Infiltration Cadre. The scheme being tested here was meant to be the Stealth Suit version of more camouflage version of the Vior'la Sept White and Red, however, I liked the Zandri Dust colour so much, I will do the whole lot in this colour. A few units may receive the White and Red however the Codex states that the red markings are Vior'la, the armour plate may be coloured wherever the Sept is fighting, green in jungle worlds, grey in Urban zones, so the Bone/Brown colours suit my terrain and colour of the earth - Calthan Brown (Mournfang Brown).

I chose to do the 'metallics' black and grey as a departure from my normal SM Leadblecher, setting these Tau apart from human technology and copied the gold gyros from the GW normal to add spot colour to an otherwise 'drab' colour palette. The touch of red Vior'la Sept marking lifts the scheme too. Blue energy also emanates from lenses and energy couplings/vents etc.

The fatigues can be base coated with Mournfang Brown spray and the vehicles Zandri Dust to match the armour, now GW has decided to produce spray Zandri Dust once again. I was going to do the 'back pack' Zandri dust, but as these are stealth teams, they will remain brown. The base is finished as my previous bases, Calthan Brown, Kommando Khaki/Ushabti Bone drybrush, linking in the camouflage scheme to the environment nicely as I have used both those colours as line highlights.

Thanks for dropping in, cheers, Siph.

Legio Astorum Warlord Titan Build - WIP #10 - Arms

Welcome Back Readers, Thanks for dropping in for the next installment of the titan build. Here I start the arms, I have already glued and dried the Upper Arm Pistons to the Upper Arm. Next, the Elbows are glued and clamped to the Upper Arm assemblies.
Once dry, the next day I can Arm assemblies into the Shoulder Joints, after roughing up the surface to maximise the surface area for the JB Weld to affix to. There will be a lot of weight pulling this join apart with the weight of the Titan Arm Weapons below it.
To assist the glue, I clamped the sides onto the Upper Arm so I have now three surfaces of glue affixing the arm into the socket.
The alignment of the arm and Shoulder Joints should be either 90 degrees or more so the arms hang down vertically or out at the sides a little, here is the 90 degree one. I then drilled the pin holes for making the arms supper strong.
Here is a shot of the pin going in place, through the Shoulder Joint and into the Upper Arm. The whole Arm will be further pinned from a pin reaching through the entire assembly from the Shoulder Mounts, through the Shoulders themselves and in through the Shoulder Joints and into the Upper Arms. I am planning on magnetizing the weapons in place using a magnet up in the lower arm coupling and in the top cog of each weapon - yet to purchase the Arm Weapons.
The arm assemblies were then glued and clamped into the Shoulder and at a slight angle, so the weapons would point out at the front of the titan roughly ten degrees from straight forward - test pose this desired angle before gluing and clamping in place. Once dry, you can go ahead and glue the two sets of Shoulder Pistons.

Legio Astorum Warlord Titan Build - WIP #11 - Pinning Shoulder and Arms

Welcome Titan Enginseers, thanks for dropping in. Another quick post about the Warlord. This time, just a quick update and an important one. This is how I will ensure the arms are fully supported. I already spoke about the triangle arrangement FW designed into the titan for the Shoulders, so the arms won't droop, but here I am backing it up with a pin right through linking four major components so the arms are as strong as can be.
Here is the drilled hole, using the entire 11cm drill length of my 2.5mm long drill bit I can get the pin to link through the Shoulder Mounting Assembly, through the actual Shoulder, into the Upper Arm Joint and into the Upper Arm itself - I am pretty sure the JB Weld will hold but this can only help.

You can also see the fitted Arm Pistons mentioned in the last post, all dried and reinforcing the arms further.
And all to show is a small hole in the Shoulder Mount Assembly which will be green stuffed and filed smooth. All that is left for the Torso now is the fitting of the Carapace 'lid' and the venting and void shields. Waiting for magnets to arrive first so I can think about mounting the head and neck joint with magnets, either a straight drill through or like the Waist, a small cavity job? I'll wait to see how strong they are and go from there.

Cheers for dropping by. Siph.

Hello Readers, more completed models from the back catalogue of purchases, these are from the Blogger Buddy Bulk Buy I made from my blogger buddy Mordian7th. Adding to the Onager Dunecrawler and the Cult Mechanicus models I already have.
This is all Mordian7th's work, I just re-did the bases to match my own models. I like the gloss black look of the Ruststalkers heads best.
Well, a quick post of my updates, still working on the Warlord, update post on that soon. Thanks for dropping in. Siph.

Relictors Spacemarine Shadow Captain Solaq

Hello Kind Readers, all is not forgotten with regard to my Relictors. Amongst the titan build I haven't forgot the actual Weemen... Here is my latest offering towards the Battle Company, another Captain but a nice one. This Captain is found in the Shadow Force Solaq boxset from the Damocles Warzone set of two, the other being the Tau.
I substituted the Plasma Pistol out for a Storm Shield to make him more survivable and hopefully either with a Power Sword or Relic Blade plus his Bolt Pistol, he can make a good fight of it.
The Storm Shield was a third party creation bought a long time ago and waiting for the right miniature to be used, I thought it would look good on this particular Captain as he has wing/feather-like icons all over. I am rather pleased of my brushwork this time, I am showing improvement with age, lol. The feathers, gold and cloak are all quite good I reckon.
There you have it. Right back to the Titan build in earnest... but a nice small scale break from the massive build. I really enjoyed this little diversion.

Thanks for dropping in. Siph.

Legio Astorum Warlord Titan Build - WIP #12 - Top Carapace

Welcome back Titan Enginseers, nearly there with the main construction of Dominus Victoria. With the rest of the Torso now dry and firm and all pinning in the interior done, I went ahead and sealed the Torso with the 'lid' Carapace. To do this was a simple slot into place, however I used the Exhaust Ridges in place to make sure I was correctly aligning everything and the Ridges would then fit correctly when the next stage is fitting them. Don't glue the exhaust ridges in place yet, one step at a time - it's the journey, not just the destination Titan Enginseers!
The Exhaust Ridges received some small magnets into the Void Shield Projector housings and into the base of the Projectors, this will enable me to remove the requisite amount of Voids in games, and replace as necessary when I successfully regenerate them, rather than using dice (and it makes it easier to handle the build too). This will also have the added benefit of helping with painting the details.
As you can see the Void Shield Projectors fit nicely along the Exhaust Ridges. I clamped and glued the front Exhaust Intakes to the Exhaust Ridges as per the instructions prior to fitting on the Carapace, making sure they align along the bottom forming a smooth curve, use the Torso and Carapace as a guide if necessary, or I did it by eye and clamped in place overnight..
Once the Carapace lid was dried and firmly fitted to the Torso, the next day I clamped one of the constructed Exhaust Ridges into place along with the rear Exhaust Vents as these two slot into each other and best to do at the same time - makes clamping angles and rubber bands essential, however is a great step forward in completing. Make sure the rear Exhaust Vents align properly with the rear of the Torso to make the opening for the Exhaust Rear Plates.
After a double check of all the alignments, these were left to dry overnight. The next day I did the same for the left hand side Ridge and Vents. Once all these were dry, the following day I added both rear Exhaust Plates sealing the Torso section.
The Torso Complete
Rear Exhaust Plates seal the Torso Exhaust Ridges
The completed Torso in all its HUGE glory, the Titan is massive and heavy, but well put together and firm in all places, I am confident this build will be strong enough to withstand gaming.

Thanks for following the build so far and stopping by to take a look. I intend to do a compilation post linking back to all the Titan WIP Build posts for your ease of reference if you plan a build yourselves, alternatively click on the label 'Warlord Titan' in the sidebar. Cheers, Siph.

Another update post of stuff in the to do pile in-between doing Titan stuff. This was a purchase I made on a whim from Blogger Pirate Viking Painting back in 2012 and since has been sitting around on display but with a different style base... maybe it was my mild OCD but the 32mm Base Adapters I got from Tabletop Adapters were the perfect excuse to fix this and make his base match my own.
Hey ho, not really an update of sorts but back to Titan Building, nearly there on the construction front, some weapons in the next post. Thanks for dropping in. Siph.

Legio Astorum Warlord Titan Build - WIP #13 - Secondary and Tertiary Weapons

$

Hello Titan Enginseers and Readers, Thanks for dropping in. With the Titan Superstructure mainly completed I turned my attention to the Secondary Weapons as I am awaiting the release of more FW Arm Weapons before committing to Arm-ament... sry ;)

Check out a recently finished Legio Astorum Warlord of a blogger buddy GunGrave at his blog A Gurdsmans Guide To Glory

I scored the Carapace Reaver Laser Blasters where the glue would go to provide a better surface area for bonding and then applied the JB Plastic Weld.
I clamped the two pieces together whilst the epoxy set, and left overnight. Not forgetting to glue the Barrel Support to one of the barrels as per the instructions.
Whilst the main 'Secondary' weapons were drying, I assembled the Mauler Boltcannons and TL Lascannons - yes the Titan has the armament of a Landraider as secondary weapons ;)  These could then be left separate from the titan for ease of painting later. The guns were slotted into the mounts but the base plate of the mount left separate so they can be affixed to the Titan Weapon Mounts after painting.

The Main body of the Laser Blasters sits in the Weapon Mount, and the Piston Assembly out of the box sits nicely in place without the need for clamps or trimming, so I glued these parts together in one sitting (no photo) and left to dry, gravity doing the hard work. The pistons which held the barrels in position were then glued in place later - I was going to leave off for painting but had some spare wet epoxy at some stage, so went ahead and glued after the barrels were in place. Below you can see the Weapon Mounts in place and no pistons.
Once the main body and Mounts of the Laser Blasters were dry, I set about gluing the Barrels, using the single Barrel with the Barrel Support attached and some elastic bands, the Barrel slots into place nicely and didn't require fiddly pinning, the JB Weld is far stronger than required and no weight will be pushing down on the barrels, plus once all three are in place, they support each other. This was left to dry overnight.
The other two Barrels slot into place and use the Barrel Support as a guide, a simple rig of elastic bands held them in place until the next day. Here you can see the pistons in place also, using some left over epoxy from the barrels. There are two ways you can fit the pistons, both 180 degrees from each other, one way is incorrect, be careful and dry fit the curved piston ends into the lugs on the Mount and Barrel Assembly and see which fits flush better.
And here are the Secondary Weapons (and maybe Tertiary Weapons) for  the Warlord. I have left off the power cables for ease of painting later. Lastly, I inserted magnets into the Shoulder Mounts and the base of the Weapons so they fit firmly in the mount but can still be removed and swapped or trained onto the enemies of the God-Emperor...
These are 7mm x 4mm with a countersunk 2mm hole for extra surface area to glue. Not enough to hold the weapon on if tipped upside down, but enough to stop the weapon tilting on the mount.

Thanks for dropping in. Not much basic construction left... The main arms when bought will be a similar method, and I will post how I mount them into the Titan arms in due course!

Legio Astorum Warlord Titan Build - WIP #14 - Head

Hello Titan Enginseers, the build is almost complete now, awaiting arm choices from FW, but painting will commence soon. I'll post a compilation post for all of these WIP posts so avid Titan Builders can access all the posts together.  So, I bought an Alpha Head with the titan, and got a Beta Head from WHW, so these will be interchangeable. I can't make up my mind which looks better, so I'll continue the build with the original head for now.

The parts simply glue and clamp together, for ease of access for painting I have not glued the neck piece yet. Firstly the base plate Floor and the two Face Plate sides, then I let these dry.
After the first three were dry, I added the Cockpit 'wall' side pieces, pictured with the Rear Hatch clamped in place to ensure the correct fit, but I am leaving this off for painting inside.
To allow the titan to swap heads, I inserted a magnet in the Rear Hatch piece, these were 7mm x 4mm and have sufficient strength to hold the head upright.
Here is a test fit with the magnets, neck attached to the head with sticky-tack.
I drilled a hole for the Torso magnet and using the Rear Hatch magnet attached to the Torso Magnet, inserted it into place in the Torso and waited for the epoxy to dry overnight. This ensured a correct hold and position as well as polarity!
For the Cockpit roof, I inserted two tiny 2mm x 2mm magnets into the Head and Roof to enable access to the cockpit details once painted but to hold in place also.
As you can see, the hold is sufficient to keep the roof in place even when turned upside down. The crew will be painted separately and the Power Cables left off for ease of painting.

So, a simple update. I will post a photo of the Titan consstructed so far and a compilation of all the posts soon. Hopefully some people will find this step-by-step useful in tackling their builds. Cheers, Siph.

Legio Astorum Warlord Titan Build - WIP #15 - Ready for Painting

Hi Titan Builders, I have taken the build as far as I can as a WIP log needs to be construction wise. All that is left is adding the Armour Plates to the mounts and the eight supporting ankle piston assemblies, but they will not be done until the superstructure is painted.

Here is what I will be aiming for, something like this. Check out a recently finished Legio Astorum Warlord of a blogger buddy GunGrave at his blog A Guardsmans Guide To Glory

So, here is the Titan in all it's part-built glory. Fear not, I will post my progress as I attempt the painting, however as a helpful guide to Construction, I think 15 posts will give you all the tips and hints and process you could want, so I'll draw a line under the WIP Construction with a link-back post on Monday detailing all the WIP stages as a handy reference post to bookmark into your browsers for when you attempt the beast!
Marine shown for scale...
He really is tiny... the Marine, not Dominus Victoria !!!
Titan's really are 'Chicken Legs' until they get all the mass of Armour Plating around the ankles to give that classic flared look Marines have too.
And all the bits of the under-structure ready for painting, wish me luck with the airbrush... I will let you know how I get on with update posts and more hints and tips if I come across any difficulties in mounting the armour plates, but JB Plastic Weld really is your friend. Buy it. It's not brittle like superglue and doesn't need pins (I just did them for my own peace of mind).

Now, what arms should I buy... I will definitely get one Bellicosa Volcano Cannon, I like the look of the Sunfury Plasma Annihilator but don't know if four S9, AP2 templates is a worthy replacement for a 7in D template... and the Titan Power Claw, nice with inbuilt Vulkan Mega Bolter, but a Warlord in CC is seriously wrong... but rule of cool, I have one for my Reaver, so maybe.

I hope you have found this tutorial series a handy go to reference for your builds, if I help one person complete theirs, it is worth it. Welcome to the Collegia Titanica Princeps. Cheers, Siph

Relictors Landspeeder Typhoon

Hi Readers, I am continuing with my massive Relictors Battle Company arsenal with the latest addition of a Landspeeder Typhoon. I already have two Landspeeder Tornado's armed with Multi-Melta and Heavy Flamer, and a single Landspeeder for use with my Suppression Squadron Whirlwinds, but not a Typhoon.
The paint scheme was the same as the others, and same transfers to make sure they all matched properly, the yellow missiles match much of my army missiles.
The gunner has a Heavy Bolter as I envisage this Landspeeder staying out of harms way, using the superior range of the Typhoon Missile launcher and mobility to keep out of the way and grabbing objectives late game. A Multi-Melta would be a waste.
And finally, a couple of shots of the whole family, this Landspeeder came about from the purchase of the Shadow Force Solaq which I got for the Captain previously posted in January, so this was a freebie in my eyes ;) Ha Ha, an expensive Captain and Sternguard... must get around to them.
Cheers folks for dropping in our humble corner of the interwebs... Titan updates will come shortly...  Still on HQ Squad short of the completed Battle Company, it's like a running joke now at Weemen HQ... but even if I complete the 4 models I need to, the Battle Company will never be fully completed right?

Ask and you shall receive, a good blogger buddy Zzzzzz commented recently that he would like to see a 'family shot' of the Relictors, and I thought why not ;)
This is the entire Relictors 5th Battle Company I have to date, significantly larger than the previous shot back in Jun 2009 as seen below.
Unfortunately I cannot still accept this Battle Company as finished as I have four members of the Command Squad still to do! But even when they are done, I'll keep expanding as I see fit. Now some close ups of sorts...
Command Razorback, Linebreaker Vindicators and the Battle Company Devastator Squads
Marneus Relicgar - Chapter Master of these Relictors! You may also recognise Vulkan He'stan, and Pedro Cantor and Tyberius the Red Wake and the recent Shadow Captain Solaq.
The Chaplaincy and Librarian Enclave and a Damocles Command Rhino and a Tactical Squad from the 4th Company
The core of the 5th Battle Company, 6 Tactical Squads and Rhinos
Some of the Heavy Support elements
A few more of the Master of the Forge's (on bike) Armoury
Drop Pods (urrgh... painting them) and Dreadnoughts and the two 5th Battle Company Assault Squads
The Company Scouts
My lone Bike Squad - these will be added too soon...
The Centurions
First Company Terminators and Sternguard - I have expansion plans for both too...
Air Support elements

There you have it, my Relictors miniatures so far. I am adding to these as and when I can. And the above doesn't include my Mechanicus forces, Necrons, Imperial Guard, Daemons, Assassins, Legio Astorum Titans or the fledgling Tau... Ha Ha. I'll need a bigger room soon!

Hope you like ;) Thanks for dropping in.

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping in. These are another unit I bought from my blogger buddy Mordian7th, and an excellent squad they are too. I updated some lenses and did the bases to match my other armies, but all his paintjob.
Armed with the decent Galvanic Rifles (30" S4 AP4 with Precision Shots) and a couple of Arc Rifles for Haywire goodness, these are fairly cheap and cheerful troops. An Omnispex seems compulsory as it makes the unit shoot with a -1 modifier to Cover Saves. And finally the Ranger Alpha has a Taser Goad and Arc Pistol. The unit is Relentless and Moves Through Cover so can re-deploy quite quickly.
My thanks again to blogger buddy Mordian7th for these, I now have a decent Ad Mech contingent. Cheers Man.
